A New Era: Emerge Renewables Opens North India's First Solar Glass Plant
Emerge Renewables has achieved a major milestone with the furnace light-up at its new solar glass manufacturing facility in the Keshwana Industrial Area, Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan. This event signals the official commissioning of North India’s first dedicated solar glass plant. The development is a significant step toward bolstering India’s self-reliance in renewable energy, fortifying the domestic solar panel supply chain, cutting down on import reliance, and supporting the country’s broader clean energy goals.
Drawing on the 22-year legacy of the Alstone Group and 14 years of experience from Emerge Glass, Emerge Renewables integrates extensive glass manufacturing expertise with advanced technology. The company is positioned to provide premium solar glass solutions that adhere to rigorous international quality benchmarks.
The facility boasts a manufacturing capacity of 300 Tonnes Per Day (TPD), equivalent to 2.5 GW Per Annum. It is engineered to produce high-performance solar glass in thicknesses ranging from 1.80 mm to 5.00 mm, specifically to cater to the needs of India’s expanding solar sector. By establishing this plant in close proximity to the rapidly growing renewable energy value chain in North India, Emerge Renewables aims to boost the efficiency and profitability of solar panel manufacturers. Clients will benefit from shorter lead times, reduced inventory requirements, and streamlined communication, all of which contribute to superior customer service. The project was completed in record time, and given the current supply deficit for solar glass in the region, the facility’s capacity is already anticipated to be fully booked. This solar glass initiative is set to sustainably enhance the turnover and profitability of the Emerge Group. The new 300 MT per day state-of-the-art facility represents a strategic move toward building India’s first truly diversified glass enterprise. The group currently melts approximately 1000 MT of glass daily, producing 210 MT of Sheet Glass (1 mm to 10 mm thickness), 210 MT of Flint Glass bottles, and 240 MT of Colour Glass bottles per day. Pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, Emerge Glass has planned a geographical expansion to Ongal in Andhra Pradesh to meet rising demand in South India. Furthermore, the company intends to move up the value chain by entering the cosmetic packaging sector. The furnace light-up ceremony for Emerge Renewables signifies more than just the start of production; it marks the beginning of a new chapter in India’s renewable manufacturing narrative. Company leadership, industry partners, clients, associates, and distinguished guests were present to witness this important milestone. Speaking on the occasion, the company's leadership said: Statement from Mr. Sumit Gupta, Managing Director - Emerge Renewables "The successful furnace light-up marks the beginning of a transformative journey for Emerge Renewables.
