Electronica India and productronica India 2026 have launched in Bengaluru, highlighting the industry's commitment to manufacturing depth and international collaboration. Bengaluru, 22 September 2026: electronica India and productronica India 2026 commenced today at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru, gathering a diverse group of electronics manufacturers, component suppliers, production technology experts, buyers, and industry leaders from both India and abroad. Hosted by Messe Muenchen India, a division of the Messe München Group, the three-day exhibition is operating under the theme "India’s Powerplay in Electronics." The event remains open at BIEC until 18 September 2026.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Shri M. B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, alongside Dr Manjula N., IAS, Secretary, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, and Mr Hiroshi Nawata, Consul-General of Japan in Bengaluru.
Spanning 60,000 square metres, this Bengaluru edition hosts more than 750 exhibitors representing over 30 countries. Organisers anticipate welcoming over 50,000 business visitors from more than 50 countries throughout the three-day duration. The Government of Karnataka provides support for the exhibitions, with ELCINA serving as the Partner Association and ICEA acting as the Industry Partner. Speaking at the event, Shri M. B. Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka said, "Karnataka has created a strong foundation in innovation, R&D, technology and talent, and our focus now is to translate these strengths into greater manufacturing growth. Industry platforms such as this play an important role in bringing businesses and government together, enabling practical dialogue and meaningful collaboration. We value the insights emerging from these discussions and remain committed to creating an environment where technology-led manufacturing can grow with confidence." Brand Ambassador for the Bengaluru edition, Indian cricketer KL Rahul, greeted the industry via a special video presentation. The opening proceedings concluded with the ceremonial unveiling of the Kinetic Wall, officially signaling the start of electronica India and productronica India 2026. The first day focused heavily on India’s aspirations in electronics manufacturing, with discussions centering on domestic component production, advanced manufacturing technologies, integration into global supply chains, quality benchmarks, and the development of robust partnerships between Indian and international firms. Bhupinder Singh, President – IMEA, Messe München, and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, said, "What opens in Bengaluru today reflects the growing depth of India’s electronics industry. Buyers are evaluating components, production equipment, engineering capabilities and supplier readiness together because these decisions are increasingly interconnected. Visitors exploring the exhibition floor can assess a wide array of technologies, including electronic components, semiconductors, embedded systems, sensors, displays, power electronics, printed circuit boards, and electronic manufacturing services. The productronica India section showcases systems and equipment dedicated to PCB production, surface-mount technology, assembly, soldering, automation, inspection, testing, and quality assurance. The event features international participation from countries such as Germany, China, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, Israel, and the United States. Specialized country pavilions from Taiwan, Germany, Japan, and China offer targeted access to manufacturing capabilities from these regions. The Taiwan Pavilion is hosted in collaboration with the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, while the Japan Pavilion is organized alongside the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The strong presence of technology companies and industry stakeholders reflects Bengaluru’s importance as a centre for electronics innovation, manufacturing and sourcing. Running concurrently with the exhibition, the India Electronics Conclave has kicked off its schedule of 18 summits, conferences, and industry forums, which will feature over 150 speakers. The agenda covers critical topics such as manufacturing strategy, industrial electronics, capital goods, exports, free trade agreements, printed circuit boards, flexible electronics, electromagnetic compatibility, power electronics, and production standards. Key sessions include the CEO Forum by ELCINA, the eFuture Conference, the Industrial Electronics & Capital Goods Summit 2026 by ICEA, the Exports and FTAs in the Electronics Sector session by MEDEPC, the Bharat PCB Tech Conference, the VDMA Symposium, the OE-A Symposium on Flexible Electronics, and various technical workshops focused on EMI/EMC compliance and power electronics. The 2026 edition also introduces new formats designed to foster practical technical engagement. The inaugural electronica India Tech Challenge, produced in partnership with HackCulture and presented by DigiKey, will wrap up with finalists showcasing their solutions at the venue. The competition features a prize pool of ₹5 lakh. Additional activities, including an AI Buildathon and Masterclass, a Hand Soldering Test, and an industrial tour of the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, further link the exhibition to technical skill development, experimentation, and applied manufacturing processes. The opening day also outlined the strategic roadmap for 2027, introducing new initiatives designed to support key areas of India’s electronics manufacturing goals. These include: electronica India and productronica India 2026 will remain open at BIEC through 18 September 2026, offering three days filled with product showcases, supplier meetings, conferences, technical workshops, and industry networking. Manufacturers, OEMs, EMS providers, engineering teams, and procurement professionals are encouraged to utilize the remaining schedule to evaluate components and production technologies, review supplier capabilities, and discuss specific requirements across the entire electronics design and manufacturing value chain.
