Abu Dhabi Set To Host Thrilling UFC Fight Night On Yas Island This August

Abu Dhabi is set to host another major UFC event, underscoring the city's growing prominence in the global mixed martial arts (MMA) arena. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and UFC, the leading mixed martial arts organization, have revealed plans for UFC's return to the Etihad Arena on Saturday, 3 August. This marks the second UFC event in Abu Dhabi in less than a year, following the success of UFC 294: MAKHACHEV vs VOLKANOVSKI 2.

The forthcoming UFC Fight Night, the details of which will be announced soon, is expected to showcase a mix of international and local talents engaging in highly anticipated bouts. This event will be the 18th UFC occasion in Abu Dhabi since UFC 112: INVINCIBLE in April 2010, highlighting the city's long-standing relationship with the sport.

Last year's event, UFC 294, saw a full house at the Etihad Arena as fans witnessed Islam Makhachev defend his lightweight title against Alexander Volkanovski, UFC's featherweight champion. The event was notable for another reason: the debut of the first-ever Emirati UFC athlete, Mohammad Yahya, who competed in front of a home crowd.

Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, expressed excitement about hosting the city's first UFC Fight Night. He highlighted the significance of the event in strengthening the partnership between UFC and Abu Dhabi, promising unforgettable experiences for MMA fans in the region and across the globe. Al Geziry's remarks underscore the commitment to making Abu Dhabi a key destination for sporting events, particularly MMA.

UFC CEO, Dana White, also expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, praising Abu Dhabi as an "incredible city" and promising another epic event. White's comments reflect the UFC's satisfaction with Abu Dhabi as a host city, emphasizing the unique experiences the city offers to fight fans.

As anticipation for the event builds, UFC has announced that VIP Experience packages will soon be available through On Location, UFC's Official VIP Experience Provider. These packages promise exclusive access, including premium seating, VIP access to weigh-ins, all-inclusive hospitality, and opportunities for meet-and-greets with UFC athletes.
