UAE U21 National Team Wins Ten Medals At The 9th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship In Amman

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team concluded its impressive performance at the 9th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Amman, Jordan. The team secured ten medals on the final day, bringing their total to 22 medals. Their success was marked by exceptional technical and tactical skills, resulting in three golds, two silvers, and five bronzes.

Gold medals were awarded to Mariam Al Ali (45kg), Rashed Mohammed Alshehhi (56kg), and Ammar Al Hosani (94kg). Silver went to Aysha Alshamsi (45kg) and Alanood Alharbi (48kg). Bronze medalists included Alanood Alhosani (57kg), Rashid Al Haimeini (+94kg), Saeed Alnuaimi (62kg), Ahmad Andeez (69kg), and Fahad Alhammadi (77kg).

Rashed Mohammed Alshehhi expressed his joy over winning gold in the 56kg category. "The matches were not easy, especially the final, where I faced a highly skilled and experienced opponent," he stated. This victory was significant for him and his teammates.

Several UAE dignitaries attended the championship. Among them were Hamad Al Matrooshi, Acting Chargé d’Affaires at the UAE Embassy in Amman, along with Khaled Al Ali and Aisha Al Shehhi from the UAE diplomatic corps. Their presence highlighted the importance of this event for the UAE.

Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, a Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, remarked on the athletes' achievements. "This achievement highlights the athletes’ technical maturity and mental focus, as well as their ability to succeed against top-level competitors across Asia."

Al Batran also noted that their preparation involved both local and international training camps. These camps focused on enhancing tactical and physical skills, which proved beneficial during the competition. The athletes' dedication was evident in their performances.

Mariam Al Ali shared her experience of competing in the 45kg category. She described facing diverse fighting techniques as challenging but rewarding. Her determination contributed significantly to her success at this continental event.

The medal-winning athletes expressed pride in raising the UAE flag on such a prestigious platform. They see this achievement as a strong motivator for future progress in their sporting careers.
