UAE Muay Thai Championship To Kick Off On February 14 With Record 824 Fighters From 61 Clubs

The Space 42 Arena at Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi is gearing up for the UAE Muay Thai Championship starting on February 14, showcasing an impressive lineup of 824 fighters from 61 clubs across the UAE and beyond. This event stands out as one of the largest Muay Thai competitions ever held in the region, highlighting the sport's surging popularity and growth.

For the first time in its history, the championship, organized by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, will feature simultaneous matches in four rings over three days, concluding on February 16. This format promises an exhilarating experience for both participants and spectators. Fighters ranging from 8 to 23 years old will vie for victory across various weight divisions.

This championship is not just a local affair; teams from Uzbekistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Algeria, Palestine, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia will also compete, thereby enhancing the event's international allure and competitive edge. A total of 183 coaches and 60 referees are involved, ensuring that the tournament maintains high standards of fairness and quality officiating.

The 2025 tournament season of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation kicks off with this championship, which is pivotal for scouting talent, honing skills, and preparing national team prospects across different age categories. The championship schedule includes weigh-ins and medical checks on February 12, followed by the opening fights on February 14, day 2 bouts on February 15, and the concluding matches on February 16, all aimed at providing a platform for athletes to showcase their prowess.

Ali Khouri, a board member of the federation, shared his enthusiasm about the championship's unprecedented scale, stating, "We are thrilled by the overwhelming response, which underscores the strong engagement from athletes, clubs, and the Muay Thai community both locally and internationally. This championship sets a new benchmark for the sport in the UAE, not just in terms of participation but also in the level of competition we anticipate."

He further highlighted the event's role in reflecting the vision of H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, the federation's president, "This tournament is a direct reflection of the vision of Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and President of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation.
