Saudi Islamic Affairs Ministry Celebrates Iftar With Malaysia's Islamic University
In a significant display of international camaraderie and religious solidarity, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance recently organized an iftar banquet at the International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event, held on Saturday, forms a crucial part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift Program aimed at providing iftar meals to fasting individuals in Malaysia throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The iftar gathering saw notable attendees including Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Shammari, the Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Malaysia, and Akmal Khuzairy, the university's deputy rector. The event was also graced by several faculty deans, heads of departments, prominent Islamic figures, and students from the university. This diverse gathering underscored the event's significance in fostering unity and understanding among different communities.

Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Shammari highlighted the iftar banquet as a manifestation of the values of solidarity and brotherhood that are especially emphasized during Ramadan. He remarked on the importance of such gatherings in enhancing ties among peoples, opening channels for dialogue and understanding, and ultimately strengthening relations. Al-Shammari further noted the potential of these interactions to spread peace and love globally.
The Ministry's efforts during Ramadan extend beyond just this iftar banquet. It has been reported that eight tons of dates have been distributed as part of the ministry's initiatives in Malaysia. These activities are part of a broader effort to support thousands of Muslim individuals during this sacred month, demonstrating a commitment to religious observance and community support.
This initiative by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance not only provides essential sustenance during Ramadan but also serves as a bridge between cultures. It exemplifies how shared religious practices can foster a sense of global community and mutual respect among diverse groups. As Ramadan continues, such efforts play a pivotal role in highlighting the universal values of compassion, solidarity, and brotherhood.
