The UAE and Saudi Arabia have been identified as the preferred travel destinations for young Indian travelers, with the United States and Canada remaining relatively unexplored by this demographic, according to a recent report by FINN Partners. The #FutureofTravel report, titled 'Impulse and affluence: Understanding spend trends among India's young globetrotters,’ highlights the changing travel patterns and spending behaviors of India’s under-35 travelers, who are increasingly influencing the global travel market with their quest for unique and immersive experiences.
According to the report, a staggering 90% of respondents have partaken in spontaneous travel, driven by the desire for luxury, indulgence, and tech-integrated travel experiences. The study, which surveyed over 1,000 Indian travelers, sheds light on the emerging trends and opportunities for businesses in the travel, hospitality, and fintech sectors to adapt and cater to this burgeoning market segment.

Shivani Gupta, Managing Partner at FINN Partners, India, emphasized the role of India's growing economy in fueling both national and international leisure travel. She noted, "India's burgeoning economy not only fuels its own growth but propels its citizens into the global wanderlust," highlighting the integration of travel into the lifestyle and financial planning of young Indians.
The report identifies unique and exclusive experiences (63%), luxury and indulgence (61%), and tech-based travel (51%) as the primary spending drivers for young Indian travelers. These findings underline the importance of personalized and immersive travel experiences in attracting higher budgets from this demographic.
Moreover, the report reveals a keen interest in luxury experiences and adventure sports in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, particularly among travelers under 35. A significant 42% of respondents expressed a willingness to invest more in unique experiences, indicating a shift towards transforming aspirational travel into reality.
Convenience and Wellness Take Priority
Convenience and wellness emerge as key priorities for young Indian travelers, with 46% willing to pay extra for hotel amenities that enhance convenience. Additionally, 48% prioritize eco-conscious health and wellness programs, reflecting a growing consideration for sustainability and comfort in their travel choices.
