UAE Guide: Store Everything From Emirates ID To Movie Tickets On Your Phone
In a world swiftly adopting digital solutions, even wallets are becoming unnecessary. In the UAE, almost everything you need can now be accessed via your smartphone. Why carry a bulky wallet when you can store all your essential cards and passes digitally?
Here's a guide to seven things UAE residents can save in their smartphone wallets, making life more convenient and streamlined.

Emirates ID
Imagine being asked for your Emirates ID and not having to rummage through your bag to find it. With just a few clicks, your Emirates ID can be saved on your phone.
For iPhone Users:
- Download the UAE ICP app.
- Log in with your UAE Pass.
- On the app's dashboard, find "Emirates ID" under Favourites or tap the "Cards" button.
- View the digital version of your Emirates ID and click "Add to Apple Wallet."
Note: This feature is currently unavailable for Samsung and other Android phones, which only support viewing the QR code.
Driver's Licence
If you're driving in Dubai, your licence is essential. A digital version can be a lifesaver, especially during traffic incidents.
For iPhone and Samsung Users:
- Download the RTA app.
- Tap on 'My docs' and select 'Licence.'
- Your driver's licence will appear, with an option to "Add to wallet."
Note: This is currently available only for licences issued in Dubai.
Vehicle Licence
Car owners in Dubai can also save their vehicle licence digitally.
- Open the RTA app.
- Select the 'Vehicles' tab and choose your vehicle licence.
- Tap on the 'Add to wallet' option.
This digital version includes all necessary details like the expiry date, traffic file number, and chassis number.
Nol Card
For commuters in Dubai, the Nol card can also be digitized.
For Huawei Users:
- Ensure your phone meets specific conditions (purchased from an official channel, updated Wallet app, UAE-registered Huawei ID).
- Open the Wallet app, tap the 'plus' button next to transportation cards, and choose to add a new digital card or digitize an existing physical card.
For Samsung Users: Download the Nol Pay app to save your Nol card digitally.
Movie Tickets
Booking movie tickets online has never been easier, and now you can save them in your phone wallet.
For Vox Cinemas: After booking your tickets online, add them to your phone wallet. This not only saves time but also keeps a digital record of all the movies you've watched.
Boarding Passes
Online check-in is the norm, and digital boarding passes are a convenient addition to your phone wallet.
For Emirates and Etihad:
- Emirates passengers can check in via the mobile app and save the pass in Apple Wallet if using iOS6 or later.
- Etihad supports Apple and Google wallets for boarding pass storage.
Credit and Debit Cards
The primary use of phone wallets is for banking cards, allowing easy access without needing an internet connection.
- Open your digital wallet app (Apple, Samsung, or Google) and tap the 'plus' or 'add' button.
- Input all necessary details from your physical card.
The shift towards a more digital world means having all essential cards and passes in one place. Whether it's your Emirates ID, driver's licence, Nol card or even movie tickets, UAE residents can now navigate daily life with just their phones. Embrace this change for added convenience today!
