Toshi Reopens In Dubai: Bigger, Brighter, and More Soulful Than Ever

When a restaurant you love disappears for renovation, there's always that quiet fear it might return as a polished but soulless version of itself. Toshi, Grand Millennium Hotel Dubai's legendary Pan-Asian buffet, has done the exact opposite.

Relaunched on 19 November 2025 on the expansive new Level 1 venue, it is bigger, brighter, cleaner, infinitely more comfortable — and somehow even warmer than before.

Toshi Reopens with a Revamped Dining Experience

With high ceilings and elegant, grand interiors, the new space adds a sense of grandeur to the buffet-style feasts that guests have long cherished. The layout is a revelation: wide, logical pathways, spotless surfaces, and perfectly positioned stations mean no more bumper-to-bumper plate juggling. Everything flows.

At the heart of the new chapter is "Sushi & Beyond," a brilliant concept that places sushi front and centre while keeping the beloved theme-night spirit alive. Leading the brigade are two culinary legends: Sushi Master Chef Kot, whose knife skills and creativity elevate every slice of fish into edible art, and the irrepressibly warm Chef Nata — affectionately called "Mama Nata" by staff and guests alike.

Sushi Toshi

With almost thirty years of experience from Thailand's street stalls to five-star kitchens, Mama Nata has been Toshi's beating heart since 2017. Together, this duo brings precision, passion, and storytelling to every plate.

The weekly line-up keeps things exciting:

  • Monday – Dim Sum: Delicate steamed baskets arrive piping hot alongside the ever-present sushi spread.
  • Tuesday, Thursday & Friday – Tokyo Night: Over 30 varieties of nigiri, sashimi, and creative maki, plus pristine fish flown in daily.
  • Wednesday – Thai Street Food Festival: Mama Nata's fiery som tam, boat noodles, and massaman that taste like a Bangkok night market.

    Bao Toshi

  • Saturday – Seafood Night: Towers of prawns, crabs, mussels and oysters paired with torched salmon belly and truffle rolls.
  • Sunday – South Asian Night: Fragrant biryanis, butter chicken, and Sri Lankan crab curry in perfect harmony with fresh sushi.
  • No matter the theme, the baseline never dips: hand rolls assembled to order, woks flaming on demand, tandoor breads pulled fresh from the clay oven, and a vegan/vegetarian section that rivals the main offerings.

At AED 250–295 (soft or house beverages), Toshi remains exceptional value for the quality, variety and sheer joy it delivers. You leave not just full, but uplifted, already checking your calendar for the next theme night.

But the real magic, as always at Toshi, is the people. The multilingual team who I saw assisting other patrons moves with genuine grace and almost uncanny attentiveness. On my visit, the manager personally ensured that I was comfortable and celebrated the bespoke tasting plate with ease. This level of personalised care can turn first-time visitors into instant regulars.

The new Toshi hasn't merely moved floors; it has evolved into something extraordinary—brighter and bigger, yes, but more importantly, a place where impeccable sushi artistry meets boundless warmth and decades of Pan-Asian soul. It feels indulgent yet familiar, grand yet deeply personal. In a city spoiled for choice, Toshi doesn't just feed you; it reminds you why you fell in love with dining out in the first place.
