What Are 2024's Leading Meeting Destinations And Hotels In MEA? Cvent Weighs In

In an era where the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry continues to evolve dynamically, Cvent, a leader in event management technology, has announced its annual Top Meeting Destinations and Top Meeting Hotels lists for the Middle East & Africa (MEA). The rankings, which also cover regions such as North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, are based on extensive sourcing activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, a premier venue-sourcing platform that facilitated over $16 billion in MICE business in 2023 alone.

These much-anticipated lists serve as crucial guides for event organizers globally, aiding in the selection of outstanding hotels and destinations for their events. The announcement was made during a live press conference at IMEX Frankfurt, where Cvent took the opportunity to not only share detailed insights but also to honor the top-performing hotels and destinations in person.

2024 s Top MEA Meeting Spots Unveiled

Leading the rankings for the Top Meeting Destinations in the MEA region are Dubai, Istanbul, and Abu Dhabi, holding the first, second, and third positions, respectively. Notably, Dubai retains its title as the premier meeting destination, underscoring the city's continued appeal and investment in the business events sector. Other cities making significant strides in their rankings include Riyadh, Doha, and Casablanca, demonstrating the growing prominence of these cities in the global MICE industry.

Karina Lance, Associate Vice President, Dubai Business Events, expressed her delight at Dubai's consistent recognition as a top meeting destination. She highlighted the city's strategic engagement with meeting planners and the collaborative efforts of stakeholders across Dubai's business events ecosystem to enhance its global appeal and attract more MICE activities.

Spotlight on MEA's Top Meeting Hotels

In the hotel category, Conrad Dubai and InterContinental Dubai Festival City clinched the top two spots, with Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, making a significant leap to secure the third position. Grosvenor House's MICE success is attributed in part to its recognition with the Gold 'Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp,' reflecting a heightened emphasis on sustainability among event organizers.

Newcomers to the top 10 list, including Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, The St. Regis Downtown Dubai, and Grand Hyatt Istanbul, underscore the dynamic and competitive nature of the region's hospitality sector in catering to the MICE industry.

Methodology Behind the Rankings

The methodology for determining the Cvent Top Meeting Destinations involved evaluating over 12,500 cities based on multiple criteria, including total room nights booked and the value of requests for proposals (RFPs) submitted through the Cvent Supplier Network between January and December 2023. Similarly, the Top Meeting Hotels were assessed based on criteria such as RFPs, room nights, and response rates, highlighting the properties that excel in attracting and managing MICE business.

The Cvent Supplier Network itself stands as a testament to the scale and depth of Cvent's reach in the MICE industry. Featuring over 300,000 hotels and venues globally and supporting 18 languages, the platform represents one of the most comprehensive databases for event planners looking to source and manage their events efficiently.

With these rankings, Cvent continues to provide valuable insights and resources for the global MICE industry, facilitating connections between event organizers and top destinations and hotels around the world.
