Youssef Al-Ayyaf, an experienced bisht maker, explained that there are two main types: summer and winter. Summer bishts are crafted from soft materials and take longer to make. Winter ones include black and white variants, which are well-known. He noted that weaving bishts is a traditional craft passed down through generations.

Bishts represent more than just clothing; they symbolise elegance and social standing. Their colours reflect the evolution of Saudi fashion traditions. Rooted in Arabia's heritage, these garments are often given as gifts to guests and visiting delegations.
