TikTok Unveils New Safety Campaign And Updated Guidelines In MENA

TikTok has launched a new campaign to raise awareness and understanding of its Community Guidelines in the MENA region, aiming to ensure platform safety and combat misinformation. The initiative demonstrates TikTok's dedication to providing a secure and positive environment for users.

The Community Guidelines form the foundation of TikTok's efforts to create a, respectful, and inclusive space. These guidelines are informed by international legal frameworks, industry best practices, and input from safety and regional Advisory Councils. They are regularly updated to reflect the changing digital landscape and user needs.

The campaign seeks to increase awareness of TikTok's Community Guidelines in the MENA region, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring user safety and content integrity. By focusing on these guidelines, TikTok showcases its ongoing efforts to enhance the content landscape and prioritize user well-being.

TikTok's guidelines serve as a comprehensive framework outlining the rules and standards governing platform usage. The most recent updates, effective since April this year, were developed in consultation with over 100 organizations worldwide and members of the TikTok community.

TikTok is collaborating with some of the region's most popular content creators who will produce content promoting awareness of the platform's Community Guidelines. Creators such as Abdulaziz Al-Fudhili @SaudiSTG, Nader Al Qalaa @naderalqalaa, Badr Alhanaky @badr_hi have recently shared tips for navigating TikTok's Community Guidelines. Under the hashtag #SaferTogether, users can access a campaign landing page featuring videos from their favorite creators offering concise tutorials on understanding TikTok's guidelines and safety features.
