The Red Sea EDITION First Hotel on Shura Island

This venture is a key component of the ambitious Vision 2030, aimed at transforming Saudi Arabia into a leading destination for luxury tourism and sustainable development through a blend of resorts, marinas, and leisure facilities on Shura Island.

Marriott International, EDITION Hotels, and Red Sea Global (RSG) have joined forces to create The Red Sea EDITION, illustrating a unique partnership that champions regenerative tourism. RSG, a developer known for its innovative approach to travel, emphasizes ecological conservation and superior guest experiences. This collaboration has birthed a resort that not only operates on 100% solar power, but also integrates seamlessly into one of the most forward-thinking eco-friendly hospitality initiatives worldwide.

Guests embarking on their journey to The Red Sea EDITION will experience a scenic desert drive from Red Sea International Airport, culminating in a crossing over Saudi Arabia's longest internal bridge to reach Shura Island. The resort, a tranquil oasis, is composed of elegant stone and wooden pavilions along the beach, exuding the EDITION brand's hallmark sophistication and simplicity.

Housing 240 guest rooms, including luxurious one- and two-bedroom suites, the property offers a range of amenities such as outdoor pools, a spa, gym, and distinctive dining options, setting a new benchmark for refined living.

Design and Dining: A Symphony of Sensory Experiences

The design of The Red Sea EDITION, masterminded by Rockwell Group, is a testament to the harmonious blend of architecture and nature, mirroring the desert's rugged terrains, coral reefs, and the serene sea. With a design ethos that promotes a symbiotic relationship between the built environment and the natural landscape, the resort features coral stone floors, natural oak, and textiles that evoke the essence of the surrounding nature.

The resort's pavilions, with their coral-shaped rooftops, and the seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, offer guests a constantly engaging dialogue with the beauty of the Red Sea and the island's verdant golf course.

The Red Sea EDITION elevates the concept of destination dining through its inventive culinary program, which draws inspiration from global culinary traditions and local flavors, prioritizing health and wellness.

The resort's dining venues are not merely places to eat but are designed as immersive experiences that foster social connections, featuring live performances and events. This approach to dining emphasizes the healing properties of the sea, offering menus rich in seasonal ingredients and functional beverages aimed at enhancing well-being.

"The opening of The Red Sea EDITION marks a significant milestone in the brand's continued growth across the region and deepens its commitment to delivering experiences that transcend conventional luxury," stated George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, EDITION.

He emphasised the resort's alignment with EDITION's ethos of providing personalized spaces that resonate with today's sophisticated travelers, further cementing the brand's role in redefining luxury.

Tony Coveney, Area General Manager for Marriott Luxury Group, The Red Sea, also highlighted the significance of the resort's opening, noting, "Opening The Red Sea EDITION represents a major milestone for the destination as it marks the launch of Shura Island which is the cornerstone development of The Red Sea. We are poised to redefine luxury hospitality in the region through world-class facilities and the distinctive EDITION style and sophistication in our service offering."
