Sun Siyam Celebrates 35 Years With A Major Brand Transformation Event In Dubai

In a significant stride towards redefining hospitality, Sun Siyam has unveiled a comprehensive brand transformation in celebration of its 35th anniversary.

This evolution isn't merely about aesthetics; it brings forward a new era of culturally rich experiences, under the new brand statement, The Home of the Maldivian Spirit. This move cements Sun Siyam's status as a leading name in authentic Maldivian resort operations, offering guests enhanced journeys through unique Signature Experiences across its collection of resorts while fostering closer connections with patrons via the Siyam Rewards programme.

Sun Siyam Marks 35 Years with Major Transformation

Reflecting on the brand's journey and its latest metamorphosis, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, the Founder, owner and managing director, shared, "When we founded Sun Siyam in 1990, and later opened our first resort in 1998, our goal was simple, to share the warmth of our islands and our people with the world. This transformation keeps that soul alive while giving us the space to innovate for the next generation of free-spirited travellers."

To streamline its offerings, Sun Siyam has reorganised its resorts into three distinct collections: Luxury, Privé, and Lifestyle, each catering to different guest preferences. The Luxury Collection, epitomized by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, promises the pinnacle of island indulgence.

The Lifestyle Collection, featuring resorts like Sun Siyam Olhuveli and Siyam World, is designed for dynamic, adventure-seeking guests. Meanwhile, the Privé Collection, which includes Sun Siyam Iru Veli and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, alongside Sun Siyam Pasikudah in Sri Lanka, offers secluded retreats ideal for those seeking privacy and bespoke service.

At the core of Sun Siyam's brand renewal are the Signature Experiences, designed to immerse guests in the Maldivian culture and its vibrant spirit. These experiences range from Maldivian Roots, which celebrate the local heritage through culinary and cultural journeys, to the innovative Insta Villa, the Maldives' first overwater photo studio.

Additionally, the Sun Siyam Beach Club invites guests to enjoy music and dancing under the stars, further enriching their stay with unique moments of delight and discovery.

The introduction of Siyam Rewards marks a significant leap towards building direct and meaningful relationships with guests. This digital membership program rewards guests from their very first booking, offering personalised itineraries, room upgrades, and the option to contribute to carbon offset initiatives. Sun Siyam's commitment to environmental conservation and community welfare continues through every stay, supported by the Sun Siyam Care sustainability platform.

Deepak Booneady, Chief Executive Officer, elaborated on the essence of the rebranding efforts, stating, "This rebrand is not just about design, it is about experience. To bring this ambitious rebranding to life, Sun Siyam collaborated with industry experts, including JHAGGER&CO as the lead brand advisors, who spearheaded a year-long project encompassing extensive audience research and an internal reassessment of the brand's vision, purpose, and values.

The redesign of interior environments was entrusted to Lee McNichol and Jose Rivero of StudioSixty7, while hospitality pioneer Dominik Ruhl played a crucial role in shaping new operational standards and signature experiences.

The collective efforts of Sun Siyam's operations team, led by Abdulla Thamheed, VP of Operations, alongside the brand's sales, marketing, and public relations teams, culminated in a vibrant and modern design language that retains its Maldivian essence.
