Sole DXB 2024 Announces Headliners: James Blake, Tems, And The Roots To Make Dubai Debuts

Sole DXB, the paramount festival of contemporary culture in the region, is set to deliver an unparalleled experience in its 12th iteration in 2024, boasting a lineup of Main Stage headliners that are making their UAE debut.

This year, attendees will be treated to performances by three GRAMMY® Award-winning acts, each accompanied by their full bands. The festival kicks off with British electronic music virtuoso James Blake on Friday 13th December, followed by the sensational Tems, who blends Afrobeats and R&B, on Saturday 14th December, and concludes with a performance by the iconic hip-hop group The Roots on Sunday 15th December.

Spotlight on the 2024 Headliners

James Blake, performing on Friday 13th December, has significantly influenced contemporary music. His exceptional songwriting, production skills, and collaborations with artists like Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and Beyoncé have cemented his status as a musical innovator. Blake's performance is highly anticipated as he brings his acclaimed hits, including tracks from his album Friends That Break Your Heart, to Dubai's main stage for the first time.

On Saturday 14th December, Tems, a rising star in the global music scene, will captivate the audience with her unique blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop. Since her emergence in 2018, the Nigerian-born artist has gained widespread recognition for her hit songs and collaborations with prominent musicians like Wizkid and Drake. Her debut performance in Dubai follows the release of her album Born in the Wild in May 2024.

Closing the festival on Sunday 15th December, The Roots are renowned for their dynamic live performances and significant contributions to hip-hop. With four GRAMMY wins and a reputation as one of the finest live acts in the genre, their appearance is set to be a festival highlight. The Roots' performance is eagerly awaited, promising an unforgettable finale to the event.

What's New at Sole DXB 2024

This year, Sole DXB is expanding its offerings with the addition of a second stage and extended festival hours, from 3PM to 2AM. The diverse lineup will feature artists from a variety of genres, including hip-hop, jazz, world music, R&B, and dance. In addition to musical performances, the festival will host an eclectic mix of fashion, art, and food & beverage brands. Attendees can also enjoy curated talks, sports showcases, and interactive activations, creating a comprehensive cultural experience.

In the week leading up to the main event, Sole DXB Off Circuit will return for its second year, further extending the festival's cultural impact with various activities across the city. This initiative highlights the festival's role in enriching Dubai's cultural landscape and providing a platform for creative expression.
