Sheikh Nahyan Inaugurates Reem Mall, Elevating Abu Dhabi's Retail Scene

Abu Dhabi has welcomed its latest addition to the urban landscape with the grand opening of Reem Mall, an advanced shopping, dining, and entertainment complex. The mall was inaugurated in presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, highlighting the importance of this development in the region's retail and tourism sectors.

The inauguration was attended by notable figures including Jamal Al Ghunaim, Ambassador of Kuwait to the UAE, and Tarek Sultan, Chairman of Agility Global among others. The presence of these dignitaries underscores the significant investment and collaboration across sectors and borders to bring Reem Mall to fruition.

Spanning an impressive 186,000 sqm of Gross Leasable Area, Reem Mall boasts over 400 retail stores, 80 food and beverage outlets, and the region's largest snow park, Snow Abu Dhabi. This extensive facility offers a unique blend of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, aimed at providing a comprehensive experience for visitors and residents alike.

Located on the dynamic Reem Island, the mall represents a $1.3 billion investment in the local economy and is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the UAE's National Tourism Strategy 2031. The strategy aims to enhance the country's standing as a top global tourism destination. Reem Mall's strategic location and innovative features, including a fully integrated omnichannel retail ecosystem, position it as a key player in achieving these national ambitions.

Developed by Al Farwaniya Property Developments, a partnership among Agility Global, United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), and the National Real Estate Company (NREC), Reem Mall combines financial robustness with extensive expertise in asset management and real estate development.

Faisal Jamil Sultan Al-Essa, Chairman of Al Farwaniya Property Developments, emphasized the mall's role in epitomizing innovation and supporting community spirit. He highlighted the mall's function as a family destination, offering a diverse range of services and experiences tailored to meet the needs of all family members.

Reem Mall is pioneering the integration of digital innovations in the retail experience, including an aggregated mobile app for hands-free shopping, in-mall navigation, and smart parking. The mall also features world-firsts such as Bloomingdale's Beauty and unique VOX Cinemas with private viewing rooms, alongside leading brands such as Zara, Eataly, and Carrefour. For home furnishings, it stands as Abu Dhabi's premier destination, featuring renowned brands like Marina Home and the UAE's largest Homecenter.

Bruce von Kaufmann, Mall Director of Reem Mall, expressed enthusiasm about introducing this innovative retail destination to Abu Dhabi. He remarked on the city's rapid emergence as a global hub for family entertainment and leisure, positioning Reem Mall at the forefront of enhancing the visitor experience.

The opening of Reem Mall also marks the commencement of Reem's Summer Festival, a celebration filled with festivities running through Eid Al Adha, further enriching the cultural and entertainment offerings of Abu Dhabi.
