Sharjah Government Communication Award 2024 Celebrates Creativity Across Four New Categories
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has launched an official invitation for global entrants to partake in the 11th Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), spotlighting a broad spectrum of talents from young innovators to digital content creators who are redefining the media sphere.
This event is categorized into four distinct sectors, aiming to recognize and honor the efforts of young individuals, official spokespersons of government entities, academics, researchers, and digital content creators. Interested participants are prompted to submit their nominations by August 1 via the dedicated portal www.igcc.ae.

Best Youth Initiative Targeting either individuals or groups of youth, this category celebrates groundbreaking communication initiatives that bolster government communication efforts. Ideal entries should leverage innovative tools to enhance interactions with the public and motivate government projects that resonate with the youth's vision. Entries should align with promoting transparency, public awareness, and youth engagement in public affairs, demonstrating sustainability, inclusivity, and adherence to ethical standards.
Best Official Spokesperson This accolade is reserved for exemplary second-line official spokespersons from government agencies. Criteria for judgment include the impactful dissemination of government messages, crisis management skills, and the innovative presentation of information. Additionally, a strong media presence and the proficient use of various platforms to uplift the organization's image are essential.
Best Purposeful Digital Content Creator In this digital age, this award segment is split into two age groups, recognizing content creators who have leveraged digital platforms to effect positive societal changes. The evaluation will consider the creator's ability to engage and continuously interact with the audience through skillful and creative use of digital tools on social media platforms.
Best Research in Communication Sciences This category honors research that significantly contributes to the evolution of government communication, focusing on innovative communication technologies and methodologies. The research should be recognized by reputable academic institutions or professionals for its contribution to government communication objectives.
Submission Guidelines
To ensure entries are evaluated fairly, participants are advised to include an executive summary not exceeding 250 words, alongside a detailed 1,000-word document. This document should be well-organized, utilizing headings, paragraphs, and illustrations for clarity. Submissions may also include supplementary materials such as infographics, videos, and photos, all of which should align with the specific criteria of the chosen award category.
By facilitating a platform that encourages innovative government communication practices, SGCA aims to highlight the essential role of effective communication in governance. As the deadline for submissions approaches, potential participants are urged to finalize their contributions and take part in this unique opportunity to showcase their creative and impactful work in the field of government communication.
