Saudi Arabia Is Offering E-Visa For Esports World Cup 2024 Ticket-Holders
The Esports World Cup Convention, in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, has announced that electronic visas will be issued for ticket holders of the inaugural Esports World Cup. The event is set to begin in Riyadh on July 3. The e-visa initiative aims to streamline procedures for visitors attending the tournament, contributing to the success of international events hosted by the Kingdom.
The Esports World Cup will take place at Riyadh Boulevard City from July 3 to August 25, 2024, spanning eight weeks. Over 1,500 players from 500 elite international clubs will participate in 22 matches during the tournament. With a total value exceeding $60 million, the Esports World Cup will be the most expensive event in the history of this sector.
Visitors can obtain more information about the tournament and its events on the Esports World Cup website. E-visa applications can be submitted through the unified national visa platform "Saudi Visa" for a single-entry visa valid for 90 days.
Riyadh Boulevard City: A world-class venue
Riyadh Boulevard City will host various experiences for visitors attending the Esports World Cup, including sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, and creative activities suitable for all family members. Attendees must book a match date along with their chosen experiences.
The Esports World Cup is part of the National Strategy for Gaming and E-Sports launched by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The event aims to strengthen the Kingdom's position as a global destination for gaming and electronic sports while promoting tourism and diversifying the economy in line with Vision 2030.
In recent development, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh has announced an agreement with British world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua to be an ambassador for the Riyadh Season, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Joshua will contribute to promoting a wide range of global boxing events during the season, in addition to attending a variety of events during Riyadh Season.
Advisor Al Al-Sheikh said, “We are delighted to announce the selection of Anthony Joshua, one of the most distinguished boxers in the world of boxing, as an ambassador for boxing for Riyadh season, to contribute to further expanding the reach of this sport."
Excited about the announcement, Anthony Joshua said: "I've seen first-hand both through competing and attending events in Saudi Arabia just how impactful Riyadh season can be, so I am excited to start this cooperation -in-class events, and I am looking forward now to playing my part in enhancing that reputation further,” he added
