Oman: New Open-Air Cinema And Eco-Tourism Hub Coming Up In South Al Batinah

In the heart of South Al Batinah Governorate, a new eco-tourism project named 'Rimal Park’ is underway, aiming to marry the allure of natural landscapes with contemporary facilities.

This initiative, nestled at Al Abyadh Sand in Khabat Al Qa'adan, within the Wilayat of Nakhal, is poised to redefine the region's tourism and investment appeal. The project, as reported by Times Of Oman, stands as a testament to the area's evolving landscape, offering a spectrum of recreational activities against the backdrop of its stunning natural beauty.

The park is set to feature a vast array of attractions, including a unique open-air cinema that spans 7,806 square metres. With the capacity to host up to 2,000 guests, this cinema promises an unparalleled viewing experience beneath the stars, enveloped by the serene environment. But the cinematic allure is just one facet of Rimal Park. The development also boasts a comprehensive entertainment zone, covering 24,814 square metres and divided into five main sections, designed to cater to diverse age groups and interests.

Encompassing a total area of 225,000 square metres, Rimal Park benefits from a strategic location accessible via the main road linking Muscat to North Al Batinah. Visitors can look forward to enjoying not only the open-air cinema but also camping units, an equestrian school, and a variety of activities intended to bolster small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the vicinity.

Governor Masoud bin Saeed Al Hashimi highlighted the project's significance, noting its potential to transform South Al Batinah into a leading eco-tourism hotspot and attract both local and international visitors.

The development of Rimal Park aligns with Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing sustainable growth and economic diversification. With an estimated value of approximately OMR6.9 million, the project is expected to be completed within two years, significantly contributing to the governorate's economic vitality. It will create job opportunities, invigorate local businesses, and support the region's overall economic expansion.

Rimal Park embodies South Al Batinah's dedication to forging distinctive environmental destinations that seamlessly integrate state-of-the-art entertainment with the region's rich cultural legacy and breathtaking natural landscapes. Its strategic location, coupled with a broad spectrum of attractions, positions it to become a magnet for tourism and investment, promising a bright future for the governorate's development trajectory.
