Qatar To Host Preliminary Auditions For Changwon K-pop World Festival 2024
The South Korean Embassy in Qatar is organising regional preliminary auditions for the 2024 Changwon K-pop World Festival, a global event K-pop talent. The main festival will be held in Changwon, South Korea, in October 2024. Anyone living in Qatar, regardless of nationality, can participate in the auditions.
However, it is recommended that participants be at least 16 years old, and nationals should contact the Embassy before participating.
Competition Categories and Application Process
There are two categories for participants to compete in: Dance (up to two teams or solo performers) and Vocal (up to one team or solo performer). A panel of independent judges will select winners based on choreography, charm, stage control, and charisma, with a total score of 100 points. To apply, contestants must submit a performance video and an interview video introducing themselves in English. The videos and a completed application form should be sent to [email protected] by July 18, 2024.
Announcement of Results and Path to the Main Competition
The regional preliminary results will be announced on the Embassy's Instagram and Facebook accounts by August 11, 2024. Winning the regional preliminaries does not guarantee entry into the main competition in Korea; the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) will make the final selection. Chosen participants will have their airfare and accommodation covered for the October 2024 event.
