From February 11–14, 2025, Prada Mode lands in MiZa, Mina Zayed, transforming an industrial waterfront into a temple of high fashion, conceptual art, and cultural critique. And at the helm? Theaster Gates—the man who turns spaces into revolutions.

For the first two days, Prada Mode functions as an invitation-only sanctuary, catering to a coterie of collectors, artists, and those fluent in the language of exclusivity. Come February 13th and 14th, the doors crack open—public admission, upon registration. A rare chance to see what happens when Prada and Gates collide.

If there's a blueprint for how artists weaponize space, Theaster Gates has rewritten it. His practice is an alchemy of urban planning, architecture, and Black cultural preservation—where forgotten buildings become community temples, and abandoned objects are recharged with life.

In 2010, he launched the Rebuild Foundation, a radical project in Chicago that revives neglected spaces through art, activism, and sheer willpower. His work has unsettled museums, infiltrated elite art fairs, and most recently, set its sights on Prada Mode.

This is his third collaboration with the fashion house, following Miami (2018) and London (2019). In Abu Dhabi, Gates brings something different: a deliberate retreat from AI's grip, an exploration of analogue beauty in an era of relentless digitization.

Curated by Myrna Ayad, Prada Mode Abu Dhabi doesn't just assemble art-world heavyweights. It centers Arab women, celebrating their role in shaping regional and global culture. Conversations, performances, and intimate dialogues will unravel the layers of tradition, futurism, and artistic defiance.
