MMDE Thrissur Pooram Cultural Festival To Celebrate Its Largest Edition In Dubai This December
Dubai is set to host a much-anticipated cultural event, the MMDE Thrissur Pooram, at Etisalat Academy on December 1 and 2.
This sixth edition aims to recreate the vibrant essence of Thrissur's famous Pooram festival. A key highlight is the debut of a 40-foot Poora Panthal in Dubai, offering an authentic festival atmosphere.

Free Entry and Ticket Offers
On December 1, entry is free for all visitors, making it an ideal family outing. Organised by Equity Plus Advertising, tickets for December 2 are available on platinumlist.net.
Phase 1 tickets have sold out, but Phase 2 tickets are now open with offers like Buy 3 Get 1 Free. Children under ten can enter for free, and groups can enjoy a 'Gang of 10' package with an AED200 discount.
Star Performances and Cultural Line-Up
This edition is notable for featuring two iconic figures from Kerala's cultural scene. Padma Shri Mattannoor Sankarankutty Marar, a renowned percussionist, and Padma Shri Jayaram, a beloved Malayalam actor, will perform together outside Kerala for the first time.
The festival also includes a Chenda Melam by Paramekkavu Abhishek, Kerala's youngest Panchari Melam artist.

A Traditional Festival Experience
The festival stays true to its roots by incorporating traditional elements of the iconic Pooram festival in the UAE.
Visitors can enjoy performances like Madathil Varavu Panchavadyam and Ilanjithara Melam led by Kizhakkoott Aniyan Marar.
Other classic art forms include Nadaswaram, Kavadi, Shinkari Melam, Machad Mamankam, Ghadaka Pooram, Mega Thiruvathira, Thekkottirakkam, and Kudamattam.
Modern Innovations and Spectacular Displays
Modern touches include robotic elephants and vibrant processions enhanced by atmospheric lighting and sound design. These elements transform Etisalat Academy into a spectacular Pooram arena.

The evening will feature a live musical concert with Job Kurian and Sayanora followed by an energetic DJ session.
Nikai MMDE Thrissur Pooram Season 6 is presented by TenX Properties and created by MMDE Thrissur UAE Official and produced by Equity Plus Advertising. The event is brought to audiences by Vatika Naturals, powered by Bhima Jewellers, in association with Car Experts.
