Mission: Play! By Mattel Family Entertainment Center Launches At The Galleria Al Maryah Island

The Galleria Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi has become home to a groundbreaking family entertainment center, Mission: Play! by Mattel™, marking a significant addition to the region's leisure and entertainment landscape. This innovative venture, which officially opened its doors today, on May 16, 2024, is the result of a collaboration between Al Hokair Group, iP2 Operations Holding B.V., and Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT), a global leader in toys and family entertainment owning an iconic portfolio of brands. Designed and developed jointly by iP2Operations and Mattel, Al Hokair Group will manage its operations, showcasing a strategic lease agreement with Al Maryah Retail Company.

Spanning over 4,000sqm, Mission: Play! by Mattel™ promises an immersive experience that blends physical and digital play elements to cater to children of various ages, interests, and skill levels. The center aims to foster creativity, togetherness, and family fun, featuring three themed zones dedicated to some of Mattel's most beloved brands.

Children can explore a world of possibilities with Barbie®, engage in thrilling challenges with Hot Wheels®, and unleash their creativity with MEGA®. Each zone is designed to encourage diversity, inclusiveness, and the challenger spirit in children, enhancing their growth, creativity, and exploration through play.

In addition to the themed attractions, the center offers a dedicated event space, branded birthday and celebration rooms, a Mission: Play! Cafe for refreshments, and a retail store with Mattel toys and exclusive merchandise.

Julie Freeland, Vice President of Global Location Based Entertainment at Mattel, highlighted the center's goal to bring wonder to families through unique experiences. "Mission: Play! by Mattel is where adventure can be played out in endless ways," she said, emphasizing the center's boundaryless play philosophy.

Mishal Al Hokair, Deputy CEO of Al Hokair Group, expressed enthusiasm for the project, aligning with the group's vision to provide families with memorable experiences. Mark Ruffley, CEO of Al Maryah Retail Company, also praised the partnership with Mattel and the significant enhancement it brings to Abu Dhabi's entertainment options.

Roger Houben, CEO of iP2Operations, underscored the significance of launching the Mattel Centre in Abu Dhabi's leading lifestyle destination, The Galleria. He remarked, "Mission: Play!
