Miral Announces Over 55% Completion Of Yas Waterworld Expansion With New Attractions

Miral, known for creating immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, has shared that the expansion of Yas Waterworld on Yas Island is over halfway complete. The 16,900 square metre addition is expected to open in 2025. This expansion will boost guest capacity by 20% with 18 new rides and attractions, adding 3.3 km of slide sections, bringing the total to over 70 experiences.

The construction progress includes significant milestones such as pouring more than 67% of the concrete, which equals 10,662 cubic metres, and installing 25% of the steel columns. These achievements highlight the scale of this project. The expansion will feature the UAE’s tallest slide and a unique water-based amusement ride integrated into a waterslide complex with a thrilling 15-metre drop.

Among the new attractions is 'The Legend of the Lost Village,' an adventure where visitors can explore hidden treasures and secret passages while enjoying fun attractions. This addition aims to offer guests an exciting journey filled with discovery and entertainment.

For younger visitors, scaled-down versions of popular rides like "Dawwama Junior" and "Sebag" will be available. The expansion also includes eight additional pools, remarkable slides, water rides, and new food and beverage outlets to enhance the visitor experience.

Jonathan Brown, Miral’s Chief Portfolio Officer, stated that this expansion builds on Yas Waterworld’s popularity among both local and international visitors over the past decade.
