Review: This Japanese Michelin-Star Restaurant Should Be Your Next Ramen Spot
Good ramen is not very difficult to find in Dubai. But great ramen--the kind that melts in your mouth and feel like a warm hug on a blustering day--those are hard to find. But at the Mall of the Emirates, tucked amidst several stores is this humble (not-so-humble) Michelin-starred restaurant Konjiki Hototogisu.
Chef Yamamoto-San's Konjiki Hototogisu does not offer an immense number of dishes. Their menu is fairly limited. However, everything that they serve from the Izakaya and the ramen to the fried rice is exceptionally well done. They are authentic as they are flavorful . The dishes at Konjiki are fairly affordable and makes for a great pitstop while tired after a shopping spree at MoE!

Last weekend, I got the chance to have their spicy chicken ramen and their yakitori chicken that served as anappetizer. It was delicious and filling aided by a quiet, serene atmosphere–that was reminiscent of small ramen spots in Japan's streetside. The staff at Konjiki is also exceptionally well-mannered and amiable and adds to the warmness of the entire experience.
The spicy chicken ramen had the perfect heat and was garnished with spicy sesame oil and Japanese dashi. I ordered the chicken ramen which came with slices of cooked chicken that was equally flavorful. The broth was hearty and delicious and you can also order add-ons like pakchoy, soft-boiled eggs, etc.
If you're in the mood for something that will feed your soul and stomach, Konjiki Hototogisu is the perfect spot to visit!
