Luxury Home Maintenance Demand Skyrockets In Dubai, Reports Hitches & Glitches
Hitches & Glitches (H&G), a UAE-based home maintenance specialist under the Farnek Group, has seen a significant rise in demand for its services in Dubai's luxury residential sector. The company has secured contracts to maintain high-end properties in areas like Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai Hills Estate.
One of H&G's notable contracts includes a luxury villa on Jumeirah Bay Island, known as 'Billionaires Row’. This villa spans over 7,200 square metres, comparable to the size of Manchester City's football pitch. H&G provides comprehensive services including housekeeping, cooking, driving, butler services, technical support, and security for such properties.

According to Zohaib Azhar, director of operations at Hitches & Glitches, "A 2,237 square metre plot of land in Jumeirah Bay Island is currently valued at Dh155-160 million. That obviously doesn't even include the cost of building a villa! So, having made that level of investment, these discerning owners recognise that they require regular high-quality management and planned preventative maintenance, particularly if they are away from their home for any extended period."
The company also manages 900 premium branded apartments and five-star hotel residences in Dubai Downtown, Dubai Creek Harbor and Dubai Marina. Currently, H&G's home maintenance division holds over 1,500 active Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), valued at more than Dh22 million. These contracts are serviced by a team of 210 qualified technicians.
H&G's smart technology platform enhances its competitive edge. Developed by Farnek's smart FM solutions company HITEK, this platform includes a home maintenance app. The app allows property owners and managers to track maintenance progress from start to finish and approve or pay for materials needed for job completion.
"Demand is also soaring for smart home gadgets," said Azhar. "Improved technology has made devices easier to use and more effective, particularly those with remote options for international investors." To bolster its security offerings, H&G partnered with Ring. Ring offers award-winning products like motion-activated security cameras with two-way talk and floodlights with alarms.
Research by property consultant Knight Frank indicates that Dubai is one of the fastest-growing luxury residential markets globally. The value of properties in prime residential developments continues to rise rapidly. In the first quarter alone this year, over one hundred residential properties were sold for more than $10 million each—a 19% increase compared to the same period last year.
A significant portion of these transactions occurred on Palm Jumeirah. Investors from the UK, China and India accounted for approximately 37% of total transactions. "We initially recognised this trend over two years ago when it became apparent that increasing numbers of wealthy overseas investors were buying luxury properties in Dubai," said Azhar.
H&G provides extensive maintenance services including gym equipment upkeep, jacuzzi care, home automation systems management, laundry and kitchen appliance servicing, swimming pool maintenance and pest control. They also offer landscaping services and ensure 24-hour security for these luxurious homes.
"Customers can buy smart product bundles direct from the H&G online store with the added convenience of installation," added Azhar. This seamless experience includes ongoing maintenance and relocation services as well as add-ons.
The company's tailored offerings cater specifically to MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing), civil works, carpentry tasks, smart home automation systems, white goods servicing and special renovation projects.
This surge in demand underscores the importance of reliable home maintenance services for high-value properties in Dubai’s luxury market. With its comprehensive service range and technological advancements, H&G continues to meet the needs of discerning property owners effectively.
