L'Oréal Middle East has experienced tremendous growth since its inception, expanding from 11 employees to over 500, representing 54 nationalities. The company now operates in more than 10 countries and distributes 31 brands to 140 million consumers in the region. This growth highlights L'Oréal's role in job creation and community development.

One of L'Oréal's key focuses in the Middle East is addressing climate change. Through its "L'Oréal for the Future" program, the company is transforming its business into a model that respects planetary boundaries. In 2023, L'Oréal Middle East received the "Triple A" grade from the Carbon Disclosure Project for its sustainability efforts for the 8th consecutive year. Additionally, the company transitioned its offices to renewable energy and obtained the International REC Standard certification.

L'Oréal Middle East is also taking steps to reduce its carbon emissions in the region. The company partnered with Mohebi Logistics to launch its first fleet of electric vehicles in the UAE, reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with product transportation. L'Oréal Middle East also partnered with Aramex to adopt biodiesel fuels, resulting in a 4.4% decrease in carbon emissions for cross-border activities.

Another area of focus for L'Oréal is women's empowerment. The company aims to expand opportunities for women in the beauty industry, scientific fields, and underprivileged communities. Additionally, L'Oréal Middle East has invested AED 3.4 million in endowments through the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Middle East program, supporting 51 female Arab scientists and putting their research on the global map of scientific innovation.

Innovation is at the core of L'Oréal's strategy in the Middle East. The company is committed to addressing beauty challenges and environmental issues through groundbreaking solutions. One example is L'Oréal's acquisition of the Swiss startup Gjosa, aimed at reducing salon water usage by 69%. This initiative will be launched in the region, targeting 500 salons per year and saving approximately 35 million gallons of water annually.

L'Oréal Middle East also has transformative partnerships, such as the L'Oréal TechQuest program, which empowers homegrown startups in the UAE and Saudi Arabia to develop innovative beauty technology. The program highlights the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in driving the region's economy through innovation.

Furthermore, L'Oréal Middle East is developing diagnostic tools to address beauty challenges with technology-driven solutions. One of these tools is the AirLight Pro, which will be launched later this year. It can dry hair 30% faster and significantly reduces heat damage and energy consumption, promoting healthier and more efficient hair care routines.

Laurent Duffier, Managing Director at L'Oréal Middle East, expressed gratitude for the support of consumers, partners, and the community, which has propelled the company to this incredible milestone.
