'I Am Peacekeeper' Movement Launched In Dubai With Support From Nobel Laureates And Global Leaders
Dubai once again demonstrated its role as a central hub for fostering global unity and dialogue on Thursday by initiating the 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement'. This significant event united a diverse group of Nobel laureates, policymakers, philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, and influencers from around the world.
Spearheaded by Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, the movement's founder and the Executive Director of the Wockhardt healthcare empire, the gathering showcased an unparalleled show of global unity, highlighting the critical importance of fostering dialogue, understanding, and peace in the face of current geopolitical tensions.

The event marked the beginning of the 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement,' a global initiative founded by Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala of the Wockhardt healthcare conglomerate, dedicated to promoting peace, justice, and human fraternity. It aims to empower individuals and organizations to actively participate in creating positive change by emphasising universal human values.
This movement has garnered support from millions worldwide, encouraging dialogue, social inclusion, and collaborative efforts through various campaigns, educational programs, and international events. Its launch on September 4, 2025, in Dubai represents a key milestone in its mission to bring together global leaders, Nobel laureates, and change-makers toward achieving a more peaceful and compassionate world.
Dr. Khorakiwala, during the event, articulated that peace is a shared duty, emphasizing that it's a realistic goal that requires collective ownership. "Peace is not a distant dream but a shared responsibility that belongs to all of us. With this movement, we aim to bring together individuals and institutions that are willing to step forward and shoulder that commitment. Dubai offers the perfect platform to launch this journey – a crossroads of cultures and ideas where dialogue translates into action," he explained.
He also highlighted the initiative's 12 key endeavors, which include rallying nearly 2 million global advocates online, organizing the Billionaires for Peace Conclave in February 2026, and building a worldwide network of leaders and influencers to promote compassion, equity, and unity across the globe.
Dr. Khorakiwala further underscored the UAE's vision of tolerance and coexistence under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
He emphasised the importance of integrating peace into daily life, stating, "It's about time peace must move beyond rhetoric and become a lived practice in our homes, workplaces, and governments everywhere else. The foundation of world peace is based on inner peace through the practice of 7 human values of gratitude, forgiveness, love, humility, giving, patience and truth."
His message resonates with his contributions to global peace and healthcare, including the innovative Mobile 1000 programme, which has provided free medical care to over 40 million rural residents in India, and his efforts in uniting Nobel Peace Laureates for a common cause.
Professor Mohan Munasinghe, a 2007 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, echoed the sentiment that peace-building extends beyond resolving conflicts. "Peace-building is not just about ending conflicts, but about creating fair opportunities for all. Economic justice, environmental care, and social inclusion are pillars of lasting stability. The 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement' is timely because it reminds us that every citizen has a role in shaping this shared future," he stated. This perspective aligns with the movement's goals of fostering a peaceful world through inclusivity and environmental consciousness.
Dr. Khalid Ghanem Al Ghaith from the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi praised the UAE's dedication to promoting understanding and harmony across borders. "The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity is proud to support initiatives that foster understanding, tolerance, and fraternity across borders. The 'I Am Peacekeeper Movement' embodies these values and creates a space for leaders and citizens alike to commit to peace as a way of life. Hosting this in the UAE reflects our country's dedication to dialogue and harmony," he remarked.
Adding to Dubai's achievements in hosting global conversations, this event builds upon the successful peace summit that took place earlier in April at Expo City Dubai, attracting 12 Nobel laureates in a historic gathering for dialogue and cooperation. Furthermore, the event sets the stage for the upcoming "Billionaires For Peace Conclave 2026," expected to be a significant international assembly of Nobel laureates and Forbes billionaires, further solidifying Dubai's position as a pivotal location for global peace initiatives.
This movement's launch in Dubai, with its strategic position as a melting pot of cultures and ideas, underscores the city's and the wider UAE's commitment to leading conversations on peace, tolerance, and human fraternity. It marks a significant step forward in the global quest for peace and understanding, leveraging Dubai's unique platform to inspire action and commitment across the globe.
