Hisense Secures Role As Exclusive VAR Screen Provider For UEFA EURO 2024™

Hisense, a leading global home appliance and consumer electronics brand, has been appointed as the Official Screen Provider for the Video-Assisted Referee (VAR) system for the UEFA EURO 2024™. This collaboration will see Hisense delivering advanced screen solutions for the central VAR Room located in Leipzig, Germany, marking a significant milestone as UEFA grants exclusive rights to a sponsor for the first time. This partnership builds on Hisense's recent designation as an Official Partner of UEFA EURO 2024™, reinforcing its commitment to the European Championship through its technological innovations.

The integration of VAR technology in football represents a crucial step towards ensuring fairness and accuracy in the sport. By utilizing video footage and a team of dedicated referees, the system aids the on-field referee in making more informed decisions regarding goals, penalty area incidents, red cards, and cases of mistaken identity. The addition of UEFA’s semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) within the VAR system is set to further expedite decision-making during matches.

Throughout UEFA EURO 2024™, video match referees will operate from the International Broadcasting Center in Leipzig, relying on Hisense screens to review game plays. Additionally, Hisense will enjoy exclusive branding and design rights for all pitch-side referee review screens, ensuring that the brand gains significant visibility during VAR consultations and on stadium's large display screens.
