Global Harmony 2 Celebrates Cultures Of 14 Nations And Expat Life In Saudi Arabia

The "Global Harmony 2" initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), is part of Saudi Vision 2030's Quality of Life Program. This initiative celebrates Riyadh's vibrant cultural scene by offering an interactive space that highlights the diverse cultures of its residents. Indian Culture Week at Al Suwaidi Park in Riyadh is the first in a series of cultural weeks featuring 14 countries from Asia, Africa, and the Arab world.

Indian Culture Week showcases traditional artistic performances and shows that highlight India's rich heritage. Art workshops and dedicated spaces for children are also part of the event. More than 100 artists and creators participate, presenting artistic, heritage, and musical performances. The event also features areas showcasing traditional cuisine, clothing, handicrafts, and family-friendly interactive experiences.

Global Harmony 2 Showcases Diverse Cultures

The initiative aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a global cultural hub by embracing resident communities. It provides them with a platform to showcase their cultures in a spirit of social harmony and human diversity. This effort aligns with government initiatives to enhance the quality of life across Saudi cities.

Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, stated that this initiative acts as a cultural bridge deepening ties between India and Saudi Arabia. He noted that last year's inaugural edition's success encouraged greater participation this year from both artists and visitors.

The event receives extensive media coverage from Indian channels and platforms broadcasting its activities to audiences outside the Kingdom. This exposure helps promote cultural understanding and appreciation beyond Saudi borders.

Upcoming stops will feature cultural weeks for several resident communities in Saudi Arabia, including those from the Philippines, Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Bangladesh, Yemen, Uganda, Ethiopia, among others. These events will offer performances of traditional arts and music along with cuisine and social activities representing each culture.

This initiative reflects Riyadh’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity while fostering a sense of community among its residents. By providing a platform for various cultures to be showcased, it enhances mutual understanding and appreciation among different communities living in Saudi Arabia.
