InterContinental Resort To Open On Dubai's World Islands By 2026

The Heart of Europe, the flagship project of Kleindienst Group, has recently announced a significant partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hotel industry. This collaboration is set to unveil the InterContinental Resort Portofino, The Heart of Europe on The World Islands, Dubai, marking the debut of the iconic InterContinental brand's resort property in Dubai. This move not only reiterates IHG's commitment to expanding luxury experiences in key leisure destinations across the region but also adds a prestigious property to Dubai's luxurious hospitality offerings.

This partnership represents the third hotel addition to the combined portfolio of IHG Hotels & Resorts and The Heart of Europe, significantly bolstering their presence in the region. Scheduled for a grand opening in early 2026, the InterContinental Resort Portofino is set to become a beachfront paradise, featuring 466 rooms and suites, all with complete sea views. Guests can look forward to authentic Italian culinary experiences and an innovative atrium with floor-to-ceiling aquariums spanning six stories. This feature is part of The Heart of Europe Coral Institute, a marine life rehabilitation centre focused on environmental sustainability and the regeneration of coral reefs and marine habitats.

The resort will boast a rustic, eco-friendly roof garden offering panoramic views of the Dubai skyline, enriching the experience with a blend of luxury and nature. The resort will also introduce the Kingdom of Portofino, an exclusive area designed for younger guests, featuring a kids club, theatre, and an outdoor play and water park.
