Dubai's Pistachio Knafeh Chocolate Bar Goes Viral: A Global Sensation
This viral chocolate bar from Dubai has been going viral for the last week or so. Several influencers and chefs have been taking to the internet, sharing their reviews and even trying to recreate the recipe at home. With multiple food items going viral everyday, how did this chocolate bar from our very own Dubai manage to take the internet by storm?
The bar, originally sold by FIX Dessert Chocolatier based in Dubai, and is named 'Can't Get Khanafeh Of It'. The special dessert looks like an ordinary chocolate bar from the outside but it is actually decadent pistachio knafeh encased in a chocolate shell. Each bite will crack open the ooey-gooey goodness, changing our very definition of dessert. There have been instances of influencers from around the globe taking a plane to arrive in Dubai to try this dessert item. Knafeh is a Palestinian dessert consisting of crispy buttery phyllo strands and stuffed with a sweet creamy cheese filling.
Can You Make it at Home?
Yes. For the most part, this chocolate bar is not too difficult to whip up at home---save with a few items. You will require some cooking chocolate, phyllo strands, rich pistachio cream, and a chocolate mould. Layer the mould with some chocolate. In another bowl, mix the phyllo strands and add the pistachio cream to make it a thick paste. Add the pista paste to the mould after which, cover it with another layer of milk chocolate. Freeze it for a few hours and the resultant dessert will taste close to the item that has been lauded by food enthusiasts from around the world.
While your DIY chocolate bar might not taste exactly as decadent as the one from FIX, it will prove quite useful if you live away from Dubai and cannot afford to board a flight to try out some chocolate. It will also help alleviate the hefty price tag that comes with these bars--nearly Dh65 for one bar!
