New Shows, Flash Mobs And Modesh: DSS 2024 Unveils Over 40 Family Entertainment Events For August

Dubai's destinations have unveiled a packed schedule of over 40 new performances and mall entertainment for the second of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS)2024. Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), residents visitors can enjoy amazing deals, big-brand promotions, and free live music and entertainment at the city's shopping malls.

City Centre Mirdif offers family fun with live entertainment for shoppers spending Dh200 at participating stores. A new addition to the DSS August calendar is the Kung Fu Panda Show, featuring three daily performances until 4 August. The World Champion Double Dutch team will also perform their jump rope routines on 24 and 25 August. Additionally, a Gaming Festival will be hosted daily, attracting gamers, esports fans, and tech enthusiasts.

DSS 2024  New Family Shows Unveiled

Mall of the Emirates will feature an all-new Rock & Roll Flash Mob on 10 and 11 August, showcasing talented dancers and acrobats. Meanwhile, Dubai Festival City Mall has enhanced its IMAGINE show for the summer season. Visitors can also enjoy new performances every weekend of DSS, including a Violinist in the Bubble on 10 and 11 August, a Super Trampoline acrobatic show on 17 and 18 August, and a Vintage Vacation dance act on 31 August and 1 September.

Mercato offers free circus entertainment and a slide experience daily until 1 September. New attractions include live shows by Harlequinn European Circus, Magic Comedy Show by Jon Udry, and magician Magic Phil. Creative workshops for children add to the excitement.

Unique Entertainment Across Dubai

Nakheel Mall will host Ice Cream Jesters on 17-18 August, featuring performers dressed as ice cream scoops with sprinkles and syrup drizzles. Ibn Battuta Mall presents a Flower Funk Parade on 10-11 August with a floral discotheque on the move. AstroLab sessions from 16 August to 1 September offer children activities like robot building, LEGO robotics, 3D printing, and Minecraft.

The roaming acts head to Circle Mall on 17-18 August. City Walk features indoor live entertainment with guitarists and cello players performing on 10-11 August and again on 24-25 August.

Outdoor Hotspots Join the Fun

The Outlet Village will host an enchanting Candy Pop Parade on 17-18 August. Outdoor hotspots like Al Khawaneej Walk, Last Exit locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Al Seef, Boxpark offer live musical entertainment until 31 August. Visitors can enjoy exclusive offers across dining, shopping, beauty, entertainment, and more.

Dubai's beloved mascot Modesh celebrates his 25th anniversary this year with appearances at malls every weekend. Modesh and his friend Dana will greet shoppers at Dragon Mart and Dubai Parks & Resorts on 3 August; The View at The Palm and Circle Mall on 4 August; Roxy Cinemas at Dubai Hills Mall on 7 August; Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai Festival Plaza on 10 August; Mall of the Emirates on 11 August; City Centre Mirdif and Dubai Festival City Mall on 17 August; City Centre Deira and City Centre Al Shindagha on 18 August; City Centre Me'aisem and Barsha Mall later in the month before returning to previous locations by month's end.
