As the UAE celebrated its 53rd Eid Al Etihad, Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC), engaged in festivities that paid homage to the nation's Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
These celebrations were aligned with the national theme 'Zayed and Rashid', an initiative spearheaded by Brand Dubai, and aimed at commemorating the enduring legacy of these visionary leaders who have significantly influenced the nation's journey of progress.
The festivities at DXB provided passengers with a vivid portrayal of Eid Al Etihad through the enthralling performances of traditional Al Ayala and Al Harbia bands. The presence of Modhesh and Dana, symbols embodying Dubai's vibrant essence, added joy to the travel experiences of families and children. Furthermore, arriving guests received a distinctive commemorative stamp in their passports, serving as a memorable memento of their passage through the world's busiest international airport and the special occasion.

Jamal Al Hai, Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports, expressed the significance of this year's celebrations by stating, "This year's Eid Al Etihad programme honours the visionary leadership of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, whose legacy continues to guide the UAE's ambition. Dubai Airports is privileged to connect the world to the UAE's cultural essence, where traditions inspire innovation, and heritage bridges the past and the future."
In an effort to deepen the connection with the UAE's cultural heritage, Dubai Airports also tailored activities for its employees and stakeholders. The airport community, in the esteemed presence of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, engaged in a variety of interactive activities.
These activities were designed to foster a festive mood with live national band performances and offer a genuine taste of local culture through traditional Emirati food. The programme featured pearl-harvesting workshops, henna art sessions, cultural quizzes, and craft-making activities, devised in collaboration with the Dubai Airports Youth Council and the Irthi Council. This initiative provided a creative avenue for participants to delve into the nation's rich history.

The celebrations echoed Dubai's commitment to inclusivity by featuring a local coffee pop-up managed by people of determination, highlighting an essential element of Arabian hospitality. Additionally, an exclusive retail showcase was organized to reflect the entrepreneurial zeal of young Emiratis. This platform not only fostered innovation and creativity but also mirrored the UAE's forward-thinking vision.
Through a blend of traditional performances, engaging activities, and meaningful commemorations, the events offered a unique opportunity for both visitors and the local community to connect with the UAE's traditions and values, further enriching the cultural tapestry of Dubai and the nation at large.
