Transforming Tech Landscapes: Trescon and Dubai AI & Web3 Festival Inaugurates FutureTech World Cup
The first Qualifier round of the FutureTech World Cup, an initiative by Dubai AI & Web3 Festival and Trescon, took place on July 10, 2024. Hosted by the Dubai AI Campus, this event aimed to spotlight promising tech start-ups globally. Ten pre-qualified startups presented their innovative ideas to a panel of five esteemed jury members.
Three startups - Momint, Nettle, and Orbii - advanced to the grand finale set for September 11-12, 2024, during the Dubai AI & Web3 Festival. Momint was recognised for its impactful solutions in accelerating clean energy. Nettle s.r.o. was praised for redefining customer engagement with AI-powered digital humans. Orbii AI was honoured for helping lenders make faster and more accurate credit decisions using intelligent AI models.

The jury panel for this qualifier included notable figures such as Hasan Fardan Al Fardan, CEO of Al Fardan Exchange; Ian Arden, General Partner at Mempool Ventures; Dr. Jonathan Doerr, Partner MENAP at Antler; Ahmed Refaie, CEO & Global CIO at G.P.J. Global Partners Investments; and Sarah Abuagela, Partner & Head of Investment at Ceras Ventures.
Serial Angel Investor and Chairman of Trescon, Mohammed Saleem said, "The FutureTech World Cup is designed to celebrate and elevate those who dare to believe they can transform the world of AI and Web3. Startups advancing to the grand finale receive fully sponsored Start-up Pods at the Dubai AI & Web3 Festival. The ultimate winner will be awarded a one-year Dubai AI Campus License fully sponsored by Trescon credits worth $10,000 for future events. They will also gain access to mentorship from jury members and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
