Dar Alwd Construction Enhances Sustainable Infrastructure For Nomad Eco-Tourism In Sharjah
Dar Alwd Construction (DAW), tasked with constructing the Nomad eco-tourism destination for the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), has reported considerable advancements in laying down the project's groundwork.
This initiative is nestled within the scenic Kalba Mountains and is distinguished by its minimal environmental footprint, integrating a blend of solar energy and natural materials.

As part of Shurooq's broader objective to diversify Sharjah's hospitality landscape, Nomad is designed to both preserve biodiversity and offer visitors genuine experiences.
"Sharjah has placed sustainability at the heart of its tourism strategy, and Nomad reflects this vision by demonstrating how development and environmental preservation can coexist," said Ahmed Ben Zaied, Sharjah Collection General Manager. "By embedding the project within the Sharjah Collection portfolio, we are reinforcing the emirate's reputation as a destination where culture, nature, and innovation meet."
DAW's commitment extends beyond basic construction tasks, focusing on the creation of access roads suitable for the difficult terrain, establishing water and sewage systems, and laying the foundation for a project designed for sustainability and long-term use.
Notably, innovations such as polymer resin concrete (PRC) have been utilized for their durability, low maintenance, and minimal environmental footprint.
These, alongside solar-ready steel structures and sophisticated water and waste management systems, underline DAW's dedication to achieving Shurooq's vision for an eco-friendly infrastructure.
"Nomad presented unique geographic and environmental challenges, but also an opportunity to demonstrate how infrastructure can serve both sustainability and performance," said Tarek Musbah Abdul Rahman, General Manager of DAW.
"Our role was to ensure that every stage of delivery supports Shurooq's eco-tourism standards while providing long-term durability and resilience in a sensitive natural setting."

This project aims to showcase how careful engineering and environmental consideration can coalesce to form a standout tourism project in Sharjah, marking a significant step towards sustainable infrastructure development in the region.
With breakwater structures, water channels, and facilities ready for renewable energy integration, Nomad is poised to operate independently of traditional utility networks, embodying the future of eco-centric tourist destinations.
The construction of Nomad by DAW under the guidance of Shurooq is a testament to Sharjah's commitment to sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship.
