DAMAC Properties Launches DAMAC Islands 2, Inspired By The World’s Most Scenic Island Destinations

DAMAC Properties has unveiled DAMAC Islands 2, its latest waterfront community in Dubai. This development follows the success of DAMAC Islands and aims to bring tropical vibes to the city. The project is inspired by eight global island destinations, — Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cuba, Maui, Mauritius, and Tahiti, offering a blend of luxury living and wellness-focused design.

In 2024, DAMAC Islands 1 set a Guinness World Record by selling inventory worth AED 10 billion within 24 hours. This achievement marked the highest revenue from a real estate launch in a single day. The success of DAMAC Islands has paved the way for the launch of DAMAC Islands 2.

DAMAC Properties Launches New Waterfront Community

The launch event for DAMAC Islands 2 was held at the Coca-Cola Arena on November 12, hosted by Hussain Sajwani, Founder and Chairman of DAMAC Group, and Amira Sajwani, Managing Director. Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt attended, along with Arab music sensation Majid Al Mohandis. The event highlighted DAMAC's commitment to creating luxurious communities.

But beneath the glamour and the promise of island life lies a deeper narrative: Damac is not just building homes. It’s engineering lifestyles, curating communities, and betting big on Dubai’s unstoppable ascent as the world’s safest, most luxurious, and most family-friendly investment hub.

Dubai's property market continues to thrive, with sales reaching AED 525.87 billion in the first 290 days of 2025. This figure surpasses the record-breaking sales of 2024. In Q3 2025 alone, there were 59,228 transactions valued at AED 170.7 billion, setting an unprecedented quarterly record.

Investor demand remains strong, with residential transactions totaling AED 262.1 billion in H1 2025 — a year-on-year increase of approximately 36.4%. DAMAC Islands led villa and townhouse transactions during this period, with significant sales figures reported.

The DAMAC Island 2 master-planned project will comprise six-bedroom luxury villas of approximately 583 square meters, five-bedroom twin villas of approximately 324 square meters, five-bedroom townhouses of approximately 293 and 263 square meters, and four-bedroom townhouses of approximately 203 square meters. Prices start at AED 2.7 million.

DAMAC's developments are designed to offer more than just homes; they create communities with amenities like high-end F&B outlets, wellness pavilions, bird sanctuaries, and open-air spas. These features aim to provide residents with a sense of tranquility amidst urban life.

Amira Sajwani

In an exclusive press conference for Asian and Arab media at the venue, Amira Sajwani explained the choice of Bollywood stars as ambassadors: "We have massive demand from both Asian and Arab markets." The inclusion of celebrities like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor aligns with regional buyers' aspirations and enhances global appeal.

When asked about the purpose of appointing a Global Islander Campaign, Amira said, "We wanted people to experience island life before delivery. Whether you’re an investor or just a brand admirer, one lucky winner gets to live the island dream — all expenses paid. It’s our way of saying thank you — and showing the world where we draw inspiration from."

Community First: The Damac Design DNA

This is Damac’s seventh master community launch. Two are fully delivered and occupied. The third — Damac Lagoons — began handovers this year. And Damac Islands 1? Already under construction, on track, and sold out so fast that Islands 2 was born from buyer demand.

"The inspiration was simple,” Sajwani said. “Islands 1 sold out in 24 hours. People felt they missed out. This land is right next door—strategically placed to build on that credibility."

But what sets Islands 2 apart isn’t just location. It’s philosophy.

Amira explained, "Our core design principle has always been community building. We don’t want residents to leave. So we build F&B, retail, amenities, family spaces — everything to create a self-contained lifestyle. We’re not building houses. We’re building cities within cities."

DAMAC has already delivered over 50,000 units and has another 54,000 under construction. More than 6,000 deliveries are expected by the end of 2025, figures of which would be more accurate next year, Amira noted. The completion of DAMAC Islands 2 is anticipated within four years.

While no additional phases are planned for this year, Amira Sajwani hinted at future developments: "We said the same thing last year… and here we are."

A Balanced Market

Sajwani addressed concerns about Dubai's real estate market being in a boom-and-bust cycle: "Today's investors aren't speculators flipping with minimal down payments." She emphasised that global citizens choose Dubai for its safety, luxury, opportunity, and family-friendly lifestyle.

The influx of over 300,000 people relocating to the UAE in 2024 nearly matches the total luxury supply released over three years. British, Chinese, American, and Indian buyers continue to arrive daily.

With Bollywood star power, waterfront innovation, and a pipeline that rivals small nations, Amira Sajwani and Damac are not waiting for the future of Dubai. They’re constructing it — one lagoon, one ambassador, and one record-shattering launch at a time.
