DAMAC Lagoons Starts Handover To Residents At Santorini Cluster In Dubai

DAMAC Properties has initiated the handover of homes at DAMAC Lagoons, starting with Santorini cluster. This marks the beginning of the UAE's first LEED Platinum community becoming a vibrant neighbourhood. Located in Dubailand, this Mediterranean-themed community is one of the largest low-rise developments in Dubai, offering a unique blend of sustainability and lifestyle.

Envisioned to accommodate around 35,000 residents, DAMAC Lagoons spans a massive 4.5 million square metres. Positioned next to DAMAC Hills, it aims to achieve one of the lowest carbon footprints per capita in the UAE. The community will feature over 8,000 villas and townhouses across 11 clusters such as Venice, Morocco, Santorini, and others.

First Residents Welcome at DAMAC Lagoons

The community emphasises sustainability by using carbon-neutral construction materials, integrating recycled and locally sourced resources, and incorporating dark sky-compliant lighting to reduce light pollution. Extensive green areas enhance carbon sequestration and support biodiversity. With its focus on energy efficiency, DAMAC Lagoons is a walkable, nature-integrated community designed to improve environmental performance and quality of life.

Key sustainability outcomes include achieving 40% energy savings via passive design and high-performance systems. The community also boasts net-zero public outdoor water consumption and more than 50% water savings on private plots. Over 75% of construction and operational waste is diverted through circularity strategies. Real-time air quality monitoring and local supply chain sourcing contribute to community resilience and sustainability.

Residents of Santorini cluster enjoy both lifestyle benefits and investment potential. Mohammad Tahseen and his family moved into what they describe as a bright and spacious home whose value has already doubled in four years, from a launch price of AED 1.6 million to a current value of AED 3.2 million, underscoring the community’s investment appeal.

He said, "My children go to GEMS Founders School and a nursery that’s just next door. We are also close to the Saudi German Clinic, DAMAC Mall, and a Radisson Blu hotel which has good restaurants as well. I think DAMAC Lagoons will definitely go further up the ladder."

Prerna and Nihar Desai were drawn to the master plan and a community that represents the future of luxury living, after comparing several projects across Dubai. They highlighted the scale of amenities, from multiple lagoons to sports and retail facilities, and said it feels "like living in a resort" while still being part of Dubai.

Ahmad Maarouf, an investor who owns seven units in DAMAC Lagoons, cited both quality and long-term potential as reasons for his confidence in the project. He explained that the concept, execution, and community positioning made it a compelling portfolio choice, poised for strong returns on investment.

From the start, DAMAC Lagoons prioritised customer-centric design. The Mediterranean-inspired clusters, lagoon promenades, and pedestrian-friendly streets balance privacy with social connectivity, creating a neighbourhood that feels like a permanent holiday while being practical for daily life.

Recently, DAMAC Properties opened a new Sales and Client Experience Centre at DAMAC Lagoons, designed as an immersive experience rather than a traditional sales office. This enhances the community's appeal and showcases its unique living environment.

With the successful delivery of homes in Santorini and more to follow, DAMAC Lagoons is set to become one of Dubai's most desirable master communities, combining sustainability with luxury living.
