CLYMB Yas Island Set To Host First Top-Rope Climbing Competition In Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is set to witness a significant milestone in its sports scene with the advent of "The SUMMYT Showdown" Climbing Competition at CLYMB™ Yas Island. This event marks a pivotal moment, gathering the local climbing enthusiasts to showcase their skills at the region’s premier indoor climbing facility.

The competition not only highlights Abu Dhabi's commitment to promoting sports but also sets the stage for a national championship slated for November.

The challenge for participants is formidable, with the event featuring 30 technical top-rope climbing routes in the qualifiers on the 22-meter Advance Wall at CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi.

The competition intensifies as the top five male and female climbers progress to the finals, facing off against each other on two newly crafted routes on the iconic 20-meter Summit Wall. It's here that the day's ultimate champions will be determined, testing their endurance and climbing prowess to the fullest.

With registration now open, those interested in partaking in this groundbreaking competition are urged to secure their spots swiftly, as availability is highly limited. This event offers a unique opportunity for spectators as well, inviting them to witness the thrilling spectacle and support the climbers as they vie for victory. The event is scheduled to start at 11:00 am on September 21, with the first set of qualifiers, followed by a second round at 2:00 pm. The excitement builds up to the finals at 6:00 pm, which will conclude with an awards ceremony at 8:30 pm. Participants in the competition will be equipped with a CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi-branded kit, ensuring they have everything needed for their climb. Entry for competitors is priced at AED 200, which can be paid on-site.
