Turkish Cuisine Week Celebrates Global Culinary Heritage With Worldwide Events

Turkish Cuisine Week, a celebration of Turkey's rich gastronomy, is unfolding both domestically and internationally, spotlighting the country's culinary heritage. From May 21-27, a series of events are taking place at embassies, cultural centers worldwide, and within Turkey itself, under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with Emine Erdoğan, Turkey's first lady, playing a significant role in the organization.

In an impressive display of culinary diplomacy, Türkiye's embassies across the globe, including in London, Paris, Skopje, Lusaka, and Cairo, are hosting events that introduce the diverse flavors of Turkish cuisine. The Aegean region's delights were specifically showcased in London, highlighting the unique offerings of this area. Additionally, a Turkish breakfast event in Cairo emphasized the communal and rich breakfast culture of Turkey.

Within Turkey, cities such as Kayseri, Zonguldak, Kütahya, Edirne, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bursa, and Trabzon have joined in the celebrations, hosting various events to mark Turkish Cuisine Week. This initiative, now in its third year as of 2024, not only celebrates Turkish culinary achievements but also aims to introduce the global community to the wide array of flavors Turkey has to offer.
