Iconic Burj Khalifa To Host Its First-Ever Boxing Event This April
The iconic Burj Khalifa, known for housing a myriad of global records, is set to add another feather to its cap this April. In a first for the world's tallest tower, it will host a boxing event, marking a significant moment in sports within Dubai's architectural marvel.
Scheduled for Friday, April 26, the event is organised by OnlyComms, a company specialising in live sporting events. The Armani Pavilion, set against the stunning backdrop of the Burj Khalifa, will see a dozen white-collar boxing matches unfold. Participants hail from sectors such as real estate, recruitment, and finance, representing leading firms like Allsopp&Allsopp, Betterhomes, and Haus & Haus.
A total of twenty-four amateur athletes have undergone a rigorous 10-week training regimen at JC boxing academy in Dubai Marina. Their preparation will culminate in twelve bouts, including one that features female competitors, all divided into two teams for the evening's competition.
James McDonald, co-founder of OnlyComms, shared his enthusiasm about the event, "With Dubai a destination for world-class events, we hope this Fight Night will not only captivate boxing fans in the city but also inspire individuals to pursue their passion for sport."
Ticket pricing for the event begins at Dhs440 for general access. Attendees have the option to enhance their experience with a three-hour unlimited drinks package for an additional Dhs715. VIP tickets are available for Dhs1,320, offering exclusive access to the VIP area and the same drinks package. All ticket holders will gain entry to an after-party at the 3BK restaurant and lounge within the Burj Khalifa.
This boxing night represents the fourth instalment in the OnlyComms Fight Night series. The announcement of the fifth and final Fight Night is anticipated to be made on the same day, April 26, promising further excitement and sportsmanship display under the glittering lights of Dubai's skyline.
