Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025 Now Accepting Nominations For $250,000 Prize

Aster DM Healthcare has launched the fourth iteration of its globally recognized nursing accolade, the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award, with a grand prize of $250,000. This initiative celebrates the profound influence and dedication of nurses in various facets of healthcare. It aims to acknowledge their tireless efforts and significant contributions across multiple sectors, including patient care, leadership, education, community service, and innovation in healthcare.

Nurses who are registered practitioners have the opportunity to showcase their achievements by applying on www.asterguardians.com. They are encouraged to demonstrate their accomplishments in one primary area and can opt to highlight up to two secondary areas, reflecting the comprehensive nature of their contributions to healthcare. This approach allows applicants to present a holistic view of their involvement and impact in their respective fields.

Nominations Open for Aster Guardians Nursing Award 2025

The selection process for the award is rigorous, ensuring fairness and thorough evaluation. An independent jury, with support from Ernst & Young LLP (EY), will meticulously assess each application. Following this, a Grand Jury comprising experts from the global healthcare sector will choose the top 10 finalists. The announcement of the winner will coincide with International Nurses Day in May 2025, adding significance to this prestigious recognition.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, praised the award's impact, stating, "The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award has emerged as one of the most coveted recognitions for nurses worldwide and each edition uncovers extraordinary stories of resilience, innovation and care, inspiring us to continue honouring their remarkable contributions." His sentiment underscores the award's role in highlighting nursing excellence on a global scale.

He further emphasized the award's broader implications for the nursing profession, adding, "Through this platform, we not only empower nurses for their invaluable contributions to healthcare but also inspire the next generation to reach new heights of excellence in patient care, leadership, and innovation. We are proud to continue championing the voices of nurses, celebrating their dedication, and paving the way for future leaders in the profession."

Previous editions of the award have drawn attention to outstanding nurses from around the world. The first edition, held in Dubai in May 2022, was won by Nurse Anna Qabale Duba from Kenya. Following her, Nurse Margaret Helen Shepherd from the UK clinched the award in its second edition in 2023.

Most recently, the third edition, which attracted over 78,000 applications from more than 202 countries, celebrated Nurse Maria Victoria Juan from the Philippines as its winner. Held in India in 2024, this edition spotlighted Nurse Maria's pioneering work in developing an aeromedical evacuation system for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), significantly enhancing casualty survival rates through rapid evacuation and early treatment, especially in conflict zones.

Her innovative approach to environmental health, utilizing vetiver grass technology to mitigate soil erosion and water pollution, further exemplifies the diverse contributions nurses make beyond traditional patient care.

The Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award stands as a testament to the exceptional contributions nurses make to healthcare worldwide. By celebrating their achievements, the award not only honors current professionals but also inspires future generations of nurses to strive for excellence in their field.
