Ali's journey began in 2014 when he returned to Kuwait from university and started sharing his climbing experiences online. His vision was to cultivate a robust climbing community within the country. This led to the establishment of "Kuwait Climbing," a group that would later evolve into Ascend. From informal meetups in Mutlaa to constructing a climbing wall at his family's home, Ali's dedication has significantly contributed to the local climbing scene's growth.
Located inside Emall, across from Andalus Complex, the Ascend Rock Climbing Center boasts the tallest climbing wall in Kuwait, reaching an impressive height of 14.5 meters. The center's opening attracted climbers not only from the region but also from Europe, highlighting Ali's influence and the climbing community's anticipation for this new facility.
For those interested in exploring the world of climbing, the center operates daily from 11AM to 11PM. Pricing starts at 5KD for the first hour, with a subsequent charge of 2.5KD for each additional hour. Additionally, day passes and monthly memberships are available, offering varied options to accommodate different levels of commitment to the sport.
