Art Dubai Group Announces Senior Appointments As It Looks To Expand Globally

The Art Dubai Group, a leading cultural programming entity in the Gulf, is excited to introduce two pivotal additions to its executive team. This move signifies the group's ambition to further its influence both regionally and on a global scale.

Alexie Glass-Kantor, previously the Executive Director at Artspace, Sydney, is set to inhabit the role of Executive Director, Curatorial. This position is aimed at steering the group's artistic direction and strategy across its various arts platforms.

Additionally, Dunja Gottweis, who served as the Global Head of Gallery Relations at Art Basel, will step into the role of Director of Art Dubai Fair. Together with Benedetta Ghione and Pablo del Val, these appointments mark a strategic expansion of the leadership team overseeing the group's broad program of over thirty initiatives.

Alexie Glass-Kantor's appointment signifies the group's dedication to fostering partnerships and institutional growth. Her role will be integral in enhancing Art Dubai's leadership team and collaborating closely with the Dubai government. Glass-Kantor's track record includes leading transformative projects and developing global collaborations, which will be instrumental in promoting the Gulf's vibrant art scene internationally. Her previous tenure at Artspace saw her heading significant initiatives and collaborations, positioning the institution as a key player on the global stage. Starting in April 2025, Glass-Kantor will bring her extensive experience to further advance Art Dubai Group's artistic pursuits.

In her new capacity as Fair Director, Dunja Gottweis will leverage her vast experience to propel Art Dubai, the region's premier international art gathering, into its next phase. With a rich background that spans across continents and numerous roles within the art world, Gottweis' expertise will be pivotal in enhancing the fair's global presence.

Her work at Art Basel, where she was instrumental in launching and managing fairs globally, underscores her ability to foster relationships and diversify the fair's profile. Supported by Art Dubai's existing team, her leadership is anticipated to infuse the fair with new energy and direction as it enters its third decade.
