31st Arabian Travel Market Edition Begins: A Focus On Travel Innovation

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM), a premier global event for the travel and tourism industry, has commenced its 31st edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Running from May 6-9, this year's event is anticipated to attract over 41,000 participants and features 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries. ATM 2024 shines a spotlight on the theme 'Empowering Innovation – Transforming Travel through Entrepreneurship', emphasizing the crucial influence of start-ups and entrepreneurs in the travel sector's evolution.

This edition's agenda includes a comprehensive four-day conference program with more than 50 sessions led by over 200 esteemed speakers. These discussions will take place across two platforms: the Global Stage and the newly introduced Future Stage. H.E Issam Abdulrahim Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, is set to deliver a keynote speech on the Global Stage, highlighting Dubai's tourism ambitions and strategies. Furthermore, a Ministerial Debate on the same stage will explore tourism development strategies within the GCC, featuring ministers from the region and beyond.

Another highlight of the event is the Market Insights Summit, which will assess the burgeoning tourism markets of China, India, and Latin America. Esteemed panelists like Basmah Al-Mayman from UN Tourism and Guy Hutchinson from Hilton will share their insights. The Future Stage will launch with a session on hospitality trends in the Middle East, with senior representatives from leading hotel brands and companies discussing future prospects.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME for Arabian Travel Market, expressed enthusiasm about the event's expansion, noting a 26% increase in exhibitor participation from the previous year. This growth signifies ATM's pivotal role in the global travel and tourism community, serving as a key networking platform across various sectors.

The event has also seen substantial growth in participation from various regions, with notable increases from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Travel Tech section, in particular, has expanded by 58%, reflecting a surge in interest from companies eager to showcase the latest technological innovations in travel.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, ATM continues to integrate this theme into its activities, building on the momentum from the previous year. The event will host a Sustainability Summit to discuss Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in travel and tourism. Additionally, the Sustainable Stand Award will acknowledge exhibitors who have made significant efforts to minimize their carbon footprint.

ATM 2024 is staged in collaboration with the Dubai World Trade Centre and enjoys the support of strategic partners including the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Emirates Airlines, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Al Rais Travel. These partnerships underscore the event's significance in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the global travel and tourism industry.
