Accor Unveils Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, Largest Sofitel Hotel Set To Open In 2026
Accor has announced the signing of Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, a significant property in Makkah, near the Holy Mosque. Scheduled to open in 2026, it will be the largest Sofitel hotel globally, featuring 1,141 rooms and suites.
The hotel will be part of the Jabal Omar master development. It offers direct pedestrian access to the Haram, Islam's holiest site. The property will consist of two towers: Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah North and South. Both towers will provide stunning views of the Holy Mosque and surrounding areas.

Guests can enjoy six unique dining venues across the towers. These include all-day dining restaurants and a fine-dining destination blending French and Middle Eastern cuisines. Intimate lobby lounges will offer spaces for gatherings and reflection. The Club Millésime executive lounge promises exclusive experiences with culinary craftsmanship and personalized service.
The hotel aims to blend French art de vivre with Saudi cultural heritage through its design. It will feature refined restaurants, lounges, executive meeting facilities, and fitness centers. Guests can expect curated sensory experiences celebrating both French refinement and Makkah's spiritual essence.
Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, expressed excitement about introducing Sofitel to Makkah.
