Top Areas In Demand As Abu Dhabi's Residential Rentals Skyrocket By 102% in H1 2024

Abu Dhabi experienced a notable rise in residential rental contracts in the first half of 2024, with 49,135 contracts registered. This represents an increase of 24,811 contracts compared to the same period in 2023, showing a 102% year-on-year growth.

According to the Statistics Centre—Abu Dhabi, the city itself accounted for 43,985 of these contracts. This is a significant jump from the 21,465 contracts recorded in the first half of 2023, marking a 104.9% annual increase, WAM reported.

Abu Dhabi Rental Growth Surges

Al Ain City also saw substantial growth, with documented rental contracts rising by 77%, reaching 4,819 in 2024 compared to 2,715 in 2023. Meanwhile, the Al Dhafra region reported an increase from 144 contracts in H1 2023 to 331 contracts in H1 2024.

June recorded the second-largest growth in documented contracts on a year-on-year basis, following March's peak increase of 2.9%. The surge in rental agreements reflects Abu Dhabi's growing appeal as a residential destination.
