Abu Dhabi Unveils 33 New Parks Tailored To Local Communities, Promoting Inclusivity And Accessibility
In their quest to foster a more vibrant and healthy community, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has successfully introduced 33 new parks across the region. These green spaces are part of a broader initiative to enhance residents' quality of life by promoting physical activity, social interaction, and a connection to nature.
Each park has been carefully crafted to meet the unique needs and preferences of the local community, reflecting DMT's commitment to creating inclusive and accessible outdoor areas for everyone.
The design of these new parks incorporates a variety of features aimed at encouraging an active and social lifestyle among residents. From shaded picnic areas and children's play zones to fitness and sports facilities, including courts for paddle, basketball, volleyball, and badminton, the parks are equipped to cater to a wide range of interests and activities.
Special attention has also been paid to ensuring accessibility for People of Determination, with enhanced facilities making it easier for all community members to enjoy the parks' offerings.

Hamada Al Hashemi, Director of the Urban Design Division at DMT, expressed pride in the completion of these public spaces, stating, "We are proud to announce the completion of these public hubs, which are thoughtfully designed to encourage healthier, more active lifestyles and serve as communal areas for fitness, leisure, and connection in both Mohamed Bin Zayed City and Abu Dhabi as a whole. By delivering these projects, we are ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or ability, has access to high-quality leisure facilities."
The establishment of these parks is a significant step forward in DMT's ongoing efforts to improve the emirate's liveability. By offering a variety of recreational opportunities and fostering a sense of community, these green spaces play a crucial role in DMT's strategy to create dynamic and inclusive environments.
The initiative aims not only to provide residents with more accessible outdoor zones but also to support broader goals of health, recreation, and community engagement across the emirate.
