Abu Dhabi's Milestone In Sustainability: 3,000 Ghaf Trees Planted
In a significant move towards environmental conservation, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in partnership with the Al Shahama Municipality Center, Emirates Environmental Group, and Ma'an Authority of Social Contribution, has successfully planted 3,000 local Ghaf tree seedlings across various locations. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance environmental development, underscore the importance of agriculture, and foster a sustainable ecosystem within the community.
The project is strategically designed to bolster the city's green areas, thereby contributing to the ecological balance, reducing the impact of climate change and carbon emissions. It also aims to improve the aesthetic appeal of the city while creating a healthier environment for the community, ultimately leading to increased well-being and happiness among residents.

By focusing on the Ghaf tree, an indigenous species that is well-adapted to the local climate, the initiative highlights the Abu Dhabi City Municipality's dedication to preserving the local flora and fauna. The Ghaf tree, along with other native species such as the Talh tree, plays a crucial role in maintaining the region's biodiversity.
The tree planting project was executed in three distinct phases to ensure thorough coverage and impact. The initial phase saw the planting of 1,000 Ghaf trees in the Al Samhah area, demonstrating the project's commitment to starting strong. The subsequent phase involved the planting of another set of 1,000 Ghaf trees along the Rawdat Al Riff – Al Shahama Bypass Road, expanding the green footprint of the initiative. The third and final phase culminated in the planting of 1,000 Ghaf trees on the Al Shahama Bypass Road, wrapping up the project with a significant contribution to the local environment.
