Champions Compete At Belgian Summit Of UAE President’s Cup For Purebred Arabian Horses
The UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses is set to continue its European journey with the 11th event at Waregem Racecourse in Belgium. Scheduled for Tuesday, this race is part of the 32nd edition of the Cup's global calendar. It features a distinguished group of horses and studs, making it one of Europe's key competitions.
The Belgian race promises a competitive field of top champions. The event spans 2,170 metres and is classified as a Group 3 race for horses aged four years and older. With a total prize pool of €200,000, it stands as the most lucrative prize ever offered for Arabian horse racing in Belgium.

The line-up includes 12 participants, headlined by Al Zeer (FR) (Al Mamoun Monlau × Asma Al Khalediah by Amer), owned by Mohamed F.A.H. Al Attiyah. Norma Al Maury (FR) (Azadi × Nemosie Al Maury), representing Al Shaqab Racing, also joins the competition. Adding to the anticipation is Joe Star (FR) (Al Mourtajez × Guest Del Falot by Djorman), representing the UAE and owned by Nasser Helal Al Alawi.
Among the contenders are last year’s Sweden winner Freddy Py (FR) (TM Fred Texas × Via Hypolite by Dahess) and Germany winner El Paso T (BE) (Al Mourtajez × Porta T by Marwan I), both trained by Gerard Zoetelief. This year’s Sweden winner Farida P (BE) (Al Mourtajez × Hania D.A. by Majd Al Arab), owned and trained by Peter Deckers, is also competing.
Completing this high-calibre field are Ska de L’Aigle (FR), who won last year's Italy stop, along with Dream Seq (US), El Zarka D.A. (BE), Tex D.A. (BE), Raza P (BE), and Nabucco Al Maury (FR). Each participant brings unique strengths to this prestigious event.
This race not only showcases elite Arabian horses but also highlights the rich tradition and competitive spirit inherent in such events. The combination of skilled trainers, experienced jockeys, and exceptional horses promises an exciting contest for enthusiasts and spectators alike.
